    Americanism in my books and soon they will want TV ad time outs. Leave the game alone and deal with the rampant cheating and referee abuse to let them do their job unhindered.

    Exactly. Except doing something really positive is admitting the game at the top is riddled with cheating is not what they want to do in case it harms the product.

    the rules are not vague, in so much as they are written down. the interpretation of them are extremely varied !

    Extremely ... Any data to back that up? EPL studies suggest otherwise, while the speed of the game has increased, foul counts increased, the actual quantified standard of refereeing remains consistently good, Mike Dean included.

    One thing I agree with is half time / full time stopping only when ball is out of play. However only if players don't know when ref has his time elasped. Adding time for penalty intermission and celebrations could also work
