I have seen Fox play since he played for the U18s and I don't get the interest from bigger clubs. He is very ordinary at best and terrible at worst.
Edwards could do well. Not sure why he's never got close. OK he's skinny but he's quite tough and has very good positional sense.
After Simon Francis' rise I'd say anything is possible. I've never thought he is as bad as people make him out to be, just fairly standard.
He could well thrive this year if he isn't abandoned by the rest of the team. He was captain against Welling and a few minutes against Ipswich. I'm backing him in the starting line up this year.
I definately don't think Fox is as bad as he's made out to be BUT don't really get the interest from premier teams
Given a better team around him and better manager (who knows to develop players), I think Fox would be a good player. Like with many others, he's been subjected to **** managers and players and hasn't been able to learn. And then when he makes a mistake everyone's on his back and that could lead to him being apprehensive.
He played a few games for the U-18's at CB, but mostly was at LB. He did have a loan spell at Notts County which was quite successful. I don't think he'll be too bothered by the abuse, he's always struck me as being a strong character, which is why he's got as far as he has while other youngsters with more natural ability have fallen by the wayside.
Can't begin to fathom why a premier club would want him - embarrassingly bad going forward and not much better defensively., Although he hasn't had any real protection since Bulot left. He needs to work hard on his positioning, as he has no pace to get himself out of trouble like most modern fullbacks.
i have seen a lot of Charlton full backs over the years, and Fox is one of the worst. He is slow, has a poor positional game, and how many crosses did he shank into the stands last season?
Anyone who saw him as a 17-year -old would not believe it possible, but this is a strange year. Who would have believed at the beginning of 2015 that we would Brexit, that Jeremy Corbyn would (allegedly) lead the opposition, or that Donald Trump would have an even chance of being President of the U.S. of A.?
I have seen plenty of full backs in my fifty five years of supporting Charlton and here are a few of the worst ones, Dietmar Bruck, Ray Tumbridge, Paul Sturgess, Traore, Dan Seabourne,Tom Hovi. They are all worse. Fox doesn't look like a full back or a central defender. I really can't see why a Premiership club would be interested in him.
That's why I said Fox was 'one of the worst' Richard. You left Martin Crainie & Greg Halford off that list. And Simon Francis ..
It will be 3 windows where he's been linked with a move to the premier league. Could be the work of a busy agent. Will be interning to see who represents him.
