He gave me a kiss on the hand so he can't be all bad I'd have thought that zero hours contracts would be worse for smaller firms though - if half your staff are zero hours and they all don't turn up one day then bang goes productivity or even the ability to do business.
I have to admit I was wearing a somewhat fruity example today. Put it this way, it wouldn't be one to spring on someone nursing a hangover. Vin
Thanks Chilcs Last phone call approx an hour ago and she'd been good all evening! Crossing fingers that we both get a good night's sleep
That Trump press conference.. Alt-left at fault Both sides have bad people Both sides have good people New York Times: Mr. Trump repeated that assertion on Tuesday, criticizing “alt-left” groups that he claimed were “very, very violent” when they sought to confront the nationalist and Nazi groups that had gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee from a park. He said there is “blame on both sides.” “Many of those people were there to protest the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee,” Mr. Trump said. “This week, it is Robert E. Lee and this week, Stonewall Jackson. Is it George Washington next? You have to ask yourself, where does it stop?” Mr. Trump defended those gathered in the park to protest the statue’s removal, saying, “I’ve condemned neo-Nazis. I’ve condemned many different groups. Not all of those people were neo-Nazis, believe me. Not all of those people were white supremacists by any stretch.” Defending Nazis, KKK and other racists...
Not that trump is clean or nice or even fair but him condemning everyone but not one specific group is a ploy mr corbyn does on a regular basis. Why does one get massive criticism whilst the other one gets to get away with hit (except from the tories)
it was only a matter of time before someone got killed, did not think it would be with a car though. Antifa supporters have publically said they rock up with knives and bottles, the trump supported who almost got his head caved in with a D lock, both sides turn up with sticks, and now some have firearms on display. When 2 sides want to fight, they will fight, esp as the police seem to have been told to leave them to it
He also said this: "should statues of former presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson should also be torn down, because they have been slave-owners." How can a supposedly intelligent man, elected to run a country , a diverse country in that, miss the point so badly?
Not advocating for or excusing Trump, or the racists he panders to, in any way, but I do think that taking down the statue of Robert E Lee in Charlottesville was an unnecessary provocation. Just as the scars of slavery in the US are a long way from being healed, so are the scars of the Civil War. To many southerners, Lee is an emblem of the regional pride of an underdog culture. Pulling down that statue would have been seen by many southerners - by no means only the racists among them - as rubbing their noses in the defeat of the South by the Union. This is secondary to the far more serious issue of racial tension in the US, but how far do you go when you start pulling down statues? There is a gold plated - gold plated ffs - statue of Union General Tacumseh Sherman on 52nd Street in NY. This is the man who "burned old Dixie down", laying waste to the entire infrastructure of the South. I don't think anyone is advocating pulling that down (though it's just around the corner from Trump Tower, so you never know!)
