Yes it's a bribe. Just like Jeremy's free money for all and ending student fees was a bribe. Welcome to government and politics. They who bribe best wins. Was Jeremy's manifesto "not excusable?" I have been hearing/reading quite the opposite. Funny how a couple of weeks makes people forget. A couple of weeks ago Jeremy fans were warbling on about how we must set differences aside and get round tables and talk. This week it's "No making deals with Terrorists."
The BBC are fine. Leadsom isn't Cutting **** loads then coming up with a billion to a bunch of homophobic terrorists isn't So much for Austerity right? The Tories are disgusting. https://www.theguardian.com/society...n-hospital-to-be-sold-off-secret-plans-reveal Sell off a hospital but can find a bn for the DUP.... Nah, I have been calling them sucking up to the DUP as disgusting the whole time.
The thing about media coverage is an odd one. You want the media to be able to say whatever they like but it wouldn't happen in any other negotiation and I really can't see how it helps matters. I can't imagine that if, say, Barclays and NatWest were trying to negotiate a deal the process would be helped if the people in charge of their respective Twitter accounts kept posting public updates on the negotiations, leaking info about discussions between their board members and claiming the Barclays CEO had said the latest position taken by the NatWest CEO was completely unacceptable and the NatWest CEO must be deluded if (s)he thought otherwise.
If it was as he stated there in simple tweet terms then no. The reality is that the EU is insisting that EU courts should be the highest court for EU citizens in the UK. Thus creating a 2 tier system where UK citizens can go no further than the Supreme court whereas EU citizens could take it to the EU courts and have the Supremem court over-ruled. If it were as simple as having the same as we have now then it is disingenous anyway because the "Great Repeal Bill" is going to transfer all EU laws into the UK law. But that isn't as Barnier has put it because they are trying to force the UK to accept EU courts over-ruling UK courts in respect of EU citizens. We cannot have a 2 tier system because that will lead to all sorts of problems with pro-sharia groups insisting that they should have sharia as their highest court and at the extremely unlikely end of things lots of other nationalities demanding that they should be able to have their own laws as their highest. Theoretically you could have Americans insisting that they should be allowed to bear arms!!! So put simply, if it were just what that tweet implies then it is already agreed on because the great repeal bill WILL transfer the same rights as currently exist.
If only they were able to use the same magic to make houses appear for all these people kicked out of their council blocks.
Think this thread should be entitled Westminster Pantomime, not Politics. Domestic and international politics is all corrupt and based on making money and using it to bribe your way to power. It applies to all parties, countries and blocs. I know new MPs set out to change the system but it always changes them. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. St Jeremy is backed by shady characters, as is St. Theresa.
May is easily most incompetent PM in my lifetime. Buying off the DUP like a prostitute to remain in power is a desperate short term fix, which will create a load of near term issues. The resources wasted and the consequences of an election, and a Brexit, we didn`t need to enter into would be better spent on real issues facing the country - security, housing, health, eduction etc etc
Given the desperate state of the NHS in England and Wales, what do you think Theresa May will say to the nurses and doctors here? If money can be found for the NHS in N.I. as the price for propoinh up May's govt, what needs to happen to secure similar funding for the rest of us?
