Maybe because we're not filled with testosterone? And we're far more sensible. And understanding. And empathic. And generous. Shall I go on? :D

On Wednesday, the Russian parliament gave preliminary approval to a bill decriminalizing domestic violence. It's part of President Vladimir Putin's push for a return to traditional family values.

In the summer of 2016, Russia got its first law specifically directed at domestic violence. The parliament introduced the notion of "close ones" to Article 116 of the criminal code, which deals with battery. That group includes the suspect's children, spouse, parents, siblings and other relatives. Beating them without any consequences to their health became punishable with a jail term of up to two years. Many in Russia saw this as a necessary measure: according to women's rights activists, 10,000 Russian women a year die as a result of domestic violence. Official statistics say 40 percent of all serious violent crime takes place in the home

after watching Obama's eloquent, intellectual speech followed by Trumps newscast with the vocabulary of a 13 year old mugger I am just amazed, confused and terrified!

But that is no surprise. Obama has been a supreme Orator since he was first on the scene vying for the democrat candidacy. There is a big difference between being able to speak that way and being able to deliver let alone whether his oratory is actually of much meaning.

Like I said years ago. I was captivated by Obama through his candidacy and it pulled me into watching more of that election. His speeches since this campaign started have reached that pinnacle again that he had back then...........

............however is it not just a different type of showmanship?

Out of interest, would it have been legal for Biden to have run for president this year and for obama to be his running mate?

Labour MP Tristram Hunt is quitting as an MP to become the director of London's Victoria and Albert Museum, triggering a by-election.

This could be a tricky one for Labour. UKIP are waiting in the wings - does anyone actually know what UKIP now stands for (policy wise that is)?

I don't think you can be VP if you've served 2 terms as President. That would contravene the 22nd Amendment. The VP has to be able to become President if the President dies or is sacked like Nixon.

I really don't think that being intelligent is a type of showmanship, you either are or you aren't. If you're confronted by a system that allows blockheads to win Einstein would lose!

it's difficult for Brits to understand the American health system! I'm one of them. So Trump is going to scrap Obamacare. It's too expensive for the working class they say. So the new plan will allow the not so well off to only insure themselves for some things and not all things so it will be much cheaper for them! Sounds good if you don't actually get ill (or if you actually have an existing illness that you can't insure against so you're ****ed). Sure I'll be enlightened!

The 22nd Amendment doesn't mention the Vice-Presidency at all. It just says "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."

However, some argue that the combination of that and the 12th Amendment - which says "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States." - means a two-term president couldn't then run to be Vice-President. Others argue that the 12th Amendment was made at a time when there were no term limits and that, because the wording of the two is slightly different, you can't necessarily say that.

So nobody really knows and they won't know for sure until and unless a two-term President ever tries to run for the Vice-Presidency, at which point there would almost certainly be a legal challenge and the Supreme Court would have to decide.
