So Le Pen has given up being President of the FN. She doesn't wish to be tainted by them while she runs for President of France. Mind you if she loses she might take over again. Sounds like a certain man in the UK.

The French electorate should have stuck with the fiddling Fillon, he is probably in the lower league of fiddling French politicians and was head and shoulders above the rest of the candidates. Melenchon and Le Pen have crazy left wing unaffordable spending commitments, Macron is tainted by being part of the disastrous socialist government and has no party but is clearly the best of a poor choice. Can he raise enough support to implement the necessary fiscal changes required, very doubtful.

Warning of 'dominance' in home building

Interesting article about the dominance of the few main building companies in the UK. The UK government should do all in its powers to encourage small builders and provide serviced plots to enable those keen to build their own houses.

Anyone else find this a tad suspicious, if not downright worrying?

A loaded question designed to bring about a certain response. Disgraceful.

I would like to see whether this is actually a yougov poll or just fake. Seems unlikely to me

I cannot think that in these early days of the Election many politicians will give straight forward responses to straight questions. If it is shown that people do not like the prospect of tax rises, seeing nurses coming out of food banks, making clearly un-affordable promises on social care etc. than the politicians will simply present the policy in a different way, making out that they were not reported correctly. I will hold my fire until I see what is in the written word, but do wonder if this election which was not required will make any difference. What it will not do is make the EU change their position which is clear enough, rather more open than the UK's.

But all of those are entirely affordable - in either of two ways. The first being to stop unnecessary involvement in wars & get rid of Trident - and the second to attack tax fraud/avoidance at the end of the scale where it is doing the most damage.

It looks like the politicians here are making a mockery of my comments about independent politicians being what is right for an island this size as the Council of Ministers is publically showing that it is divided (I'm not deluded to thinking that they all agree on everything) and that they are looking to get rid of our First Minister less than a year before an election. http://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2017/05/24/cracks-begin-to-appear-in-council-of-ministers/

Far to easy SH. 71% of the voters want the PM to go before the next election. When given a list of the leading Tories as a replacement, they said none of them.

It all goes to show what a terrible state of governance exists at present at a crucial time for the country, and far from "getting on with the job" the PM has decided to extend her holiday.

It looks like the Tories are slipping back into the natural political party for government. I know I previously stated I wanted the Tories to move away from the 'Eton' image but Rees Moog looks an interesting option. I would quite happily have him or David Davis, both firm Brexiters.

Our PM does not seem to be in free fall like the French President. He might be gone before she does!!

Many thanks, I would imagine most countries would like a strong intelligent leader like Margaret Thatcher to lead them. Thankfully her legacy lives on, none of her union taming laws have ever looked like being changed.
