Pochettino 'cannot guarantee' that Dele Alli will still be at Tottenham next season

They could sign for our rivals or even for us. Why wouldn't that interest Spurs fans?

I meant in terms of the development of those players. Why would a Spurs fan (unless you sign them which is obviously unlikely) be bothered about the progress of Kasper and Mahrez?

 

We've got Danish fans. Helps to have Eriksen! We also had Erik Thorstvedt, so they've been around a while.

The argument about good players progressing never seems to have anything to do with nationality when it comes to us, anyway.
How many Welsh or Croatians were talking about Bale or Modric moving in the British media? Not many.
Far more with no international team interest in them, saying that they should do it for their careers. Why is this different?

 

It isn't different. I don't get why people get worried/interested about players with nothing to do with their national sides joining sides/leaving sides that have no interest to them either.

 

If affects the league, so it affects everyone's teams, in a way.
If Mahrez and Schmeichel joined Liverpool and Man Utd, for example, then that would affect the sides around them or at least it could.

 

I think it's amazing how even fans of small clubs cant wait to sell off players to a handful of elite clubs...and because you want Alli to play well for England does not mean he is going to improve abroad...Hargreaves didnt add much to England, he came through Bayern...Beckham did not get better at Real..he just maintained his standards at United. Owen wasnt better at Madrid..he was better when at Pool.

Dont you want the PL to be the best? Dont you want the best players to play here week in week out? majority of the top 10 coaches probably ply their trade in the PL...i dont buy into this foreign stuff. We shouldnt need to uproot our best talent abroad, just to overcome the likes of Iceland..i dont think that is the problem..half of the Icelandic players play in the PL.

Nope selling our players abroad is not the answer.

 

^^^This, we have quite an array of foreign talent in the premier league which has improved it no end. But technically we are not as good as other clubs in Europe basically this is due to the physical demands and pace of the premiership in my view.

Yeah but i doubt any Englishman is worried about the development of Mahrez or Schmeichel.

The Premier League was the best league in the world at that time and the top clubs had talent to match Madrid. They just don't have the prestige of Real Madrid, the most prestigious club in the world.

I don't see how you can argue that young players playing with better players won't improve them.

A small club that has been more successful than yourselves in the last 20 years i'll have you know
