Just hours away now from what is unquestionably a very important game for both clubs. The lilywhites desperately fighting to stave of relegation and the Swans looking likely to make the playoffs, and even automatic promotion to the Prem. The Swans are in a great league position and deservedly so, on league position and form all three points look destined to be in their back pocket for the trip back home to Wales. PNE are entrenched at the bottom of the league and have looked relegation bound for quite a long time, but since Phil Brown's arrival there has been a change both in team performances and of late results as well. A problem for PNE is that they are running out of games now, and in order to escape the dreaded drop have to win most if not all of their remaining games. PNE have won their last two games and would probably preferred to have had no international break, the question is can PNE continue where they left off before the break and make it three wins on the bounce. So then a win is what both teams will be aiming for, but which team will want it most and have that bit of luck that all teams need. Will the Swans undoubted good football overcome the dogged determination of a revitalised PNE. This is a league that produces many upsets over the season with any team capable of winning on the day, will there be an upset tomorrow or will the Swans continue their march towards the Prem ????? We are about to find out in a few hours time. What are your thoughts about this game between a team at top versus a team at the bottom. TFP STOP PRESS: PNE take all three points in their battle against relegation by beating the Swans 2-1. A terrific performance and great result.
No predictions from me this is one tough match, was at the Liberty earlier in the season, apart from the first 20 minuyes we were distinctly 2nd best, however different manager a bit more confidence for the players, a grotty day in the North West, let's see what happens.
Fingers crossed once again, a very tough call for any PNE fan but nevertheless we have to be optimistic and HOPE. Not a pleasant day at all here in Preston, overcast and threatening rain with the added problem of being a tad windy. Not sure how many Swan supporters will be making the trip, but I expect many will be coming to cheer their team on. I hope that the home support turn up and get behind the whites, it could make a hell of a difference. I will make that tough call and go for a narrow home win, which I agree for many would be an upset result. Come on you whites make it three wins on the bounce and maintain the fight against relegation.
Any points are a bonus in our predicament, settle for 1, over the moon if we win, still not the end of the fight if we lose. 2-1 (hopefully)
Nothing but a win will be good enough, and that's what we must get, and if PNE want to mix it up, then it's about time, that we mixed it up physically too, and Dobbie and Pratley will do just fine, just give Ashley the nod as well please Buck!............. please log in to view this image Swansea 2-0 Preston, Thank you Brown son!...... please log in to view this image
Well done JackAsh, your sportsmanship does you great credit. PNE have not been playing like a bottom of the table team for some little time now, as other top teams have found out. The Swans have still got a great chance but they could do to win their next game and get back on track. For PNE it is all about escaping the drop, todays result moves PNE off the bottom position for the first time in about four and a half months, so there is still that hope. Hope the Swans return to their winning ways in their next game.
great game and result, i thought we played some good stuff and all the swans fans being worried about us kicking lumps have been proved wrong. the keeper should have walked and the swans goal came from a free kick that never was! Thought that they looked a good side though and if they would have met us 2-3 weeks ago they would have taken 3 points!
Fantastic result for north end today lets up this can start a run to keep you guys up! just a thought though any money on a swansea baaadiff play off final yet? Mmmmm tasty!
Watch Hume's 2nd goal top draw, great performance, still fighting and now not bottom. We're going in the right direction
Iys traditional Swansea tbh - SHow a top half team how to play football, then show a bottom team how not to play. It happened alot this season - Dominate at Brizzle, lose at Cardiff, hammer Leeds, lose to scunny, Hammer Forrest, lose to PNE - See the pattern. Again, all the best for the remaining 7 games PNE - Hope you stay up. Love coming up to Deepdale.
