One more on the score sheet at the weekend ....

Cameron Burgess scored his first professional goal in Oldham Athletic’s 1-1 draw at Oxford United. The centre-back couldn’t really miss inside the area when opposition goalkeeper Simon Eastwood failed to hold a cross, with the ball dropping invitingly at his feet for him to pass into the empty net. Rob Hall restored parity early on after the restart, with Ousmane Fane then sent off for the visitors after picking up a second yellow card, but his side held on for the point which moved them up a place to 22nd in Sky Bet League One.

Jack Grimmer came on in the 67th minute of Shrewsbury Town’s 1-0 win over Millwall at the Den. Louis Dodds’ goal in the opening stages of the match proved the difference between the sides, although the victory wasn’t enough to move Shrewsbury off the foot of the table.

In the FA Trophy First Round, Ryheem Sheckleford and Wealdstone were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Wingate & Finchley. After Rob Laney had put the away side in front, the Stones turned things around through Elliott Benyon’s penalty and a Laney own goal, but they were pegged back late on courtesy of Steve Wales' spot-kick, which ensured a Replay would be required.

If they win that, they will face Southport in Round Two, who had no trouble in their tie, with Magnus Norman keeping a clean sheet in their 4-0 win at Farsley Celtic.

Larnell played the first hour of the highland derby yesterday. Unfortunately Inverness Caley went down 3-2 away to Ross County.

Cameron Burgess got booked and also ended up on the losing side. Fleetwood getting an injury time goal to beat Oldham 1-0. Continuing the tale of bad results on the road Jack Grimmer's Shrewsbury went down 2-1 to Rochdale whereas Richard Stearman's Wolves managed to lose by the same score at home - to QPR, whose goals were their ony two shots on goal! Ring any bells?

Magnus Norman and Southport reversed the balance smoewhat this afternoon however; beating Wrexham 3-2 with a late winner. And taking revenge for a 1-0 defeat on Boxing day at Wrexham.

Ryheem Sheckleford has extended his loan spell at Wealdstone.

    upload_2017-1-3_19-51-25.jpeg

The 19 year old Brixton-born Sheckleford has been with Fulham since the age of 14 and last summer signed a new deal keeping him at Craven Cottage for a further 12 months. He's played in 5 games for Wealdstone since first joining them on loan in November and will now stay with them for another month (until 8th February).

Can only be good for yet another of our promising full backs.

The Club have confirmed that Sean Kavanagh has joined Hartlepool United on loan until the end of the season.

please log in to view this image

"The 22-year-old featured in Fulham’s EFL Cup victories over Leyton Orient and Middlesbrough earlier in the season, and has made 27 appearances for the Club in total.

United are currently sitting 18th in the Sky Bet League Two standings, and Kavanagh could make his debut in Saturday’s home meeting with Grimsby Town. The Republic of Ireland youth international also spent time on loan in League Two last season with Mansfield Town
    ."

Don't know where Hartlepool will play Sean. He's been performing really well with Aron Davies at CB with the U23s and of course has a wonderful left foot. Hopefully the move will work out for him and aid him in finding a club that fits, 'cos unfortunately his future chances with us limited.

Also will be interesting to see who fills his place in the U23s. While Jose Garrido and Moritz Jenz are doing weel at U18 level as well as being young (both are 17), they are pretty 'new' and really would be best establishing themselves there. Struggling to come up with an obvious candidate - unless the Gaffer is going to play some of the big names at PL2 level more regularly.

The Club have confirmed that Cameron Burgess has joined Bury on loan for the remainder of the season.

please log in to view this image

"The move comes following the expiry of his loan spell at Oldham Athletic, for whom he made 31 appearances in the first half of the season.

Bury currently sit outside of the Sky Bet League One relegation zone on goal difference, and Burgess could make his debut for the club at Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
    "

Bit surprised he didn't stay with fellow strugglers Oldham but guess it's a bit of a step up from being stuck at the bottom of the League.

Nothing from the Club yet but Bognor Regis Town have announced the signing of young striker Elijah Adebayo on loan.

    upload_2017-1-10_19-43-3.jpeg

Adebayo impressed while on loan at Slough Town earlier in the season, netting 6 goals from 11 appearances. Three of the goals were against Bognor Regis Town in the FA Trophy. He will be in their the Bognor side to face Shoreham tomorrow night.

The Club have confirmed that Jozabed has gone to Celta Vigo on loan for the rest of the season.

please log in to view this image

"He joins the Spanish side who are enjoying a good season in La Liga, currently 9th in the table and through to the quarter final of the Copa del Rey.

The side is also participating in the Europa League with an upcoming fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk."

What the Club haven't said is that there is an option to buy at the end of the loan. We paid £3m and a bit for him last summer and he's on contract till summer 2019. Wonder what the loan fee was?

Marek Rodak out on loan to Accrington Stanley for the rest of the season. Do we have some kind of special relationship with them? We seem to send them quite a few players on loan!

Goalies anyway - both Betinelli and Joronen have had spells with them.

It's something through this Martin situation I can't fathom Jokanovic's stance on some of the players he could have used but now seem to be not in his plans. Woodrow, Tunnicliffe, Parker, Smith, Jozabed, LVC, Madl, Bettinelli all seem to have been sidelined. Yet some of these players were the stalwarts of his August start. Yet Martin seems to have got away with it, a player he seems to forgive.
Jozabed has already been loaned and Woodrow & LVC have been mentioned to be loaned out, with Rumors of Tunnicliffe and Smith for sale, but Parker to be kept on for next season.

Larnel Cole had joy in the Scottish 4th round Cup tie as he played the full 90 minutes in Inverness Caley's 2-1 win away to Elgin City.

    Ryan Tunnicliffe
was a second half sub for 2nd debut for Wigan in a 2-1 win at home to Brentford.

Richard Stearman was a tad annoyed when the Wolves goalie got sent off in controversial circumstances in their 3-1 defeat against Norwich at Carrow Road. Richard played the whole game.

Sean Kavanagh teamed up with old Academy chum Liam Donnelly and the pair kept a clean sheet as Hartlepool beat Stenage 2-0.

Cameron Burgess played his part, picking up a yellow, in Bury's feisty 2-2 draw away to Port Vale.

    Elijah Adebayo
bagged a hat-trick in Bognor Regis Town’s 5-0 hammering of Canvey Island in the Ryman League Premier Division. That means Bognor have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the table.

Magnus Norman conceded four at home for Southport as they lose 4-0 to North Ferriby.

Good start for Marek Rodak as Accrington Stanley drew 1-1 at home to Carlisle, despite going down to 10 men.

    Jack Grimmer
was an unused substitute for Shrewsbury in a 1-0 home win to Oldham. This was Jack's first appearance after (another) fairly long spell out with injury.

[An interested spectator at the game was Stevie Humphrys. Strong rumours that he's about to join Jack at Shrewsbury on loan. Mind, it could just be Oldham - his home town - but suspect not.]

Think that's them all - hard to keep up with how many out on laon at the moment. The only other one I can think of, Rhyeem Sheckleford's Wealdstone didn't have a game.

And of course there is one more ...

Jozabed made his Celta debut today. Unfortunately they lost 1-0 away to Real Sociedad.

Of all the players out on loan I think he's the one we're least likely to see in a Fulham shirt again, which is a shame as we didn't see much of him but the gaffer didn't seem best pleased with him in recent comments.

We now have a proper Xl out on loan.

    ...........................Rodak...........
    ..Grimmer..Stearman.Burgess..Kavanagh
    ..................LVC........Tunnicliffe....
    ...Jozabed....Woodrow..Humphrys..Cole..

With young Adebayo a good sub for the front line, young Sheckleford for the back and Norman giving cover in goal.

    In the Cup:

Richard Stearman scored as Wolves knocked Liverpool out 2-1 at Anfield.

An unlucky Marek Rodak made a series of fantastic saves before an architypical Downing goal (bit of a thunderclap really, but after the usual cut inside) saw Middlesbrough get a 1-0 home win over Accrington Stanley.

    In the Leagues:

A very lively Lasse Vigen Christensen got an assist and 72 minutes as Burton beat QPR 2-1 at Loftus Road. An insipid Cauley Woodrow got a cut lip and the final 5 minutes for them.

Stevie Humphrys came on for the final 20 minutes as Shrewsbury took a 1-1 draw away to Gillingham. Jack Grimmer didn't feature in the Shrews line-up.

Cameron Burgess got his obligatory yellow card as Bury snatched an injury time eaqualiser in a cracking 3-3 draw at home to Wallsall.

Disappointment for new manager Dave Jones in his first games for Hartlepool and for Sean Kavanagh as well. They went dow 3-1 away to bottom team Newport. Hartlepool stay in 18th spot.

And the same disappointment and result for Magnus Norman. Southport lost 3-1 away to Bromley.

Worse still for Bognor Regis as the table toppers lost 2-1 at home to bottom side Grays. It was one of those days for them and Elijah Adebayo - so much of the play and nothing to show for their efforts.

Up in Scotland the old Billy Connelly joke was repeated. His team, Partick Thistle Nil, were held to a 0-0 draw away to Inverness Caley. Larnell Cole played the first hour for Caley.

[No news on Ryheem Sheckleford's Wealdstone and of course Ryan Tunnicliffe is up for the Cup with Wigan against, as all the papers will say his old club, Manchester United tomorrow.]

PS Not really relevant any more but thought I'd throw this one in for Rosc. Again up in Scotland, Emerson Hyndman delighted the Ibrox faithful with a storming MOTM game and a goal in Glasgow Rangers 2-0 away win over Motherwell.

Hyndman was brilliant today, looked the best player on the park by a country mile and capped off a good day with a goal.

Glad to have him at Rangers for the next few months but still disappointed that Fulham lost him.
