Not sure what all that means <laugh>

Just found your thread - http://www.not606.com/threads/commonwealth-games.346277/ - you were spot on again. Football first then convert to athletics <applause> Just read around a few Everton fan forums and there are tweets being re-posted from Meis from a while ago, where he says the design ''won't be a bowl' - not sure what shape accommodates a track then

Maybe they could have a giant turd, like Goodison Park, that shape would accommodate a track.

It means 50k for football and 25000 for throwing.

Aye, you called that right from the off mate.

I'm alright with it now they've said the ground will be already open as a football stadium and will then have the temporary track added if necessary. My only real concern is that this will surely mean than the lower tier will have a very shallow incline, but we'll have to wait and see the plans, which can't be far away if the intended opening is August 2021.

Not according to the bloke who is designing it.

No roof, seats as clos as possible to the pitch

By no roof, he meant no closing roof, he was taking the piss with the open bowl.

The seats in the lower tier can be close to the pitch, but to allow the width necessary for the fitment of a raised track platform the incline in that stand must surely be shallow? Which would mean the upper tiers being further away from the action. I'm intrigued as to how his design is going to cover both requirements tbh.

It will be some sort of retractable lower section.

I guess a limited 20-25k capacity for the athletics

will impact on the usable space if they are retractable so lessening your off field revenues i.e. conference rooms etc

i hope it all comes off as a bid.

In the end we all know what happens everytime in this country. the lower seats will be placed after the athletics and never moved again.

the west ham bowl. the eithad... they are all the same. nobody will ever host athletics again.

If Liverpool don't win the bid for 2022 they still have a bid in for 2026 so the design will almost definitely be to accommodate a track. ?? I know from reading around twitter posts and forums that fans wanted a four sided stadium - 'no bowl' has been repeatedly used. How do you do this without it being a bowl shape of some sort?

Joe's played a blinder here <laugh> As far as Everton are concerned they still get their new stadium, compromised design or not.
