its Mannone he will **** up, you can bet your kegs on it , that's why he was dropped in the first place , and lost his spot to a untried youngun
And if he does then he gets dropped and Pickford gets his chance. I don't get why we would drop Mannone while he's playing well and keeping clean sheets, as Bri says it just sends the wrong message to the rest of the squad imo, and could breed complacency in young Jordan.
its all about opinions i would rather Jordan play because Manone will spit his dummy out when he is dropped, he will probably be off to italy in the summer, and Jordan is home grown the more we play him the better he gets, and the big clubs will be knocking on the door with wads.
Can't get by with one 1 goalie though Roger. We need 3. You gotta keep the top 2 challenging each other. You can't do that by dropping 1 first chance you get for the other.
Different game those days though mate. I loved Monty! Top bloke! It's great to still see him at matches on TV.
Pickford has ****ed up, because he is young and inexperienced. I'd rather we keep Mannone after keeping two clean sheets and then let them battle it out while we have a bit of a break before the next game. Mannone is match sharp at the moment, Pickford isn't.
He lost his place through injury in 1964 and didn't get it back until his replacement, a young Scottish lad, got injured in the next season.
There's only 3 ways you know that!! You're a Google man! You've got 1 awesome bloody memory! You were that young Scottish lad!
I'll take the memory one. The keeper was u-23 Scot called Sandy McLaughlin but Monty's original replacement was the 15 yo kid Derek Forster on our first season back in Div1. First fixture was against LCFC which was drawn 3-3 but Forster never played in a winning team for about five games. Can't say who identified McLaughlin as we had no manager at the time.
Just been on the TV for Shef Wed, they won 3-0. Always was a decent keeper, think he was behind Mignolet in the pecking order.
I remember monty breaking his arm or something. We were worried about Derik foster because he was only 15 Infact we had a few young lads I ether playing or about to make there debut Players like Cecil Irwin for one and sharkey was also young Just remember a few
