Its not when you sign players, it who you sign that really matters. I'd rather sign nobody than complete garbage.

    But

What people should be really worried about is that we've at least 5 first team players to sign, and grayson is complete and utter rubbish at signing players.

I worry for us this season and grayson is under great pressure to start well.

    Exactly!!

The replacement we get for Kasper has to be equal to or if not better than him

Sames goes for Johnson and killa

Killa will be replaced easy enough but both Bradders & Kasper had some real potential for the future. Lets see who comes in & what spin Bates puts on how this is the right thing to do for the long term beneift of the club. He better not replace Kasper with a loan keeper in for the season after making at least a mill on him, but I wouldnt be suprised.

Chances are we'd be able to get better in on loan though, for the keepers spot at least.

I grew to like johnson, and if we go down the route of signing a 30 year old journeyman i wont be happy

I totally disagree, loans havent worked for us at all.

Time to start building a squad.

And i can't think of many keepers who would come on loan who are better than kasper

Then who could we buy with the money we're likely to offer?

Shay Given is reportedly available, a loan move wouldn't be out of question, whereas signing someone of his calibre would.

plenty of keepers we could buy, its a whole lot easier to find a good keeper than a good central midfielder

Lee Camp has been linked in YEP today

It would seem ridiculous if the club accepted a bid for Kasper against his wishes, unless they had another keeper already lined up. In the past, Bates and SG have shown that they would rather lose an important player for free than sell him - Beckford - which clearly shows that Schmeichel isn't seen as more important than the money we'll get for him.

I'd expect the club to have someone lined up to replace him, but if it's Jason Brown then we can be annoyed at the club.

As for Bradley's replacement, I'd like to see a midfielder with more experience at this level, obviously not an average player like Norris, but if someone like Frings came in I'd be happy.

We transfer listed him during the summer after he turned down a contract, then when he put in a transfer request in January, but Newcastle bid over a million for him which we turned down.
