Tony Pennock will be leaving #hcafc following the arrival of Marco Silva. A big loss after all the work he's done with the academy.

Very disappointing, I think this is a major loss.

Hugely disappointing. All for a 6 month appointment.

    Walked or pushed?

    Maybe he's Villa bound?

Does seem strange that we have a new coach .. a full backroom team and now a new youth coach coming in .. on 6 month contracts .. seems more permanent then that as if Silva is building from the kids up in his style .. Now it may well be that potential new owners have given guarantees come the end of that 6 months .. but standing alone in a 6 month contract this doesn't add up

I don't think we'll bring in another youth coach, Pennock was moved up to be Phelan's assistant and at that time everyone moved up a level, so we already have a youth coach. I was hoping they'd all drop back down a level and return to their prior positions, but it seems not.

It seems it was Pennocks's decision not to resume his previous role...

Understand Tony Pennock was given the option of returning to the club's academy but felt it wouldn't be the right step in his career #hcafc

Fair enough and understandable, after all he made a step up, a step back again would long term maybe not good for his own career

It's a shame because he did a very good job at the academy

As I said the other day, we never should have moved him to the first team. It's always a volatile environment with people coming and going.

It's a real shame to see him go. He's done a terrific job, our u23s are top of the league and we have probably half a dozen really good prospects.

We must build on his achievements

Why would anyone want to work for Ehab when they didn't have to?

    Well done Tony.

A decision duly noted by Steve Bruce, I have no doubt. Good luck to Tony.
