Prediction League Peeha 2017/18

Think i will keep everything to one thread so not to create a new one every week.


The question was:
GW 1 Who will score in the first gameweek?

This is embarassing for some so here goes:

- Thanks to Huddersfields goalkeeper, @InBiscanWeTrust and myself lost out on Peeha and Fantasy football points because we both went for that donkey that is Benteke. My excuse is i'm a gambler but what was Biscans considering he's seen Benteke first hand as a liverpool fan

- @Zanjinho went for fatboy Rooney who had shown he could hit shots wide and miss them completely in his 2 europa games. Having moved back to his boyhood club and probably scoring lots with the grannies, he unbelievable scored against Stoke

- No idea why anyone would choose Rondon seeing his goalscoring record is probably one of the worst in the league as well as playing for Tony P who only knows how to defend and throw balls into the box for his defenders to head in but @Lucaaas was very unlucky that Rondon actually managed a decent shot but begovic turned it away

- It was inevitable that Lukaku would score considering he's got like a 10 game consecutive scoring streak against west ham so @mustyfrog gets his answer right. Only downside is he's part of the a list of teams i mentioned would incur a 2 point penalty

- @I am Groot went for safety first and selected Harry Kane. He didn't look at Kanes historical record though and not only did he not score as he doesn't like to do in August but he had 6 chances to do it

- @Diego went for Rashford who instead of being greedy laid one on a plate for lukaku. Diego is probably happy though as he can now wum all the boards that he likes knowing his team played great

- @StanDMan though it would be a good idea to go Everton as well. Sandro probably could have scored a goal if Calvert Lewin wasn't such a greedy little **** and shot from anywhere instead of squaring to his team mate.

- @Mbemba You're A Womble is quite clearly a newcastle fan. He went for Mitrovic against spurs. Not only did he score, he didn't even play so i think ****/deluded fan of the week goes to Nev

- Is Vardy having a party? no he isn't because Leicester lost as they always do to arsenal. @Solid_Air 2 won't care though. He's on maximum points joint top with zanj

 

Diego returned to his rightful place already.

 

Didn't read that 2 point deduction rule, oh well

 

After the answers I sent in I'm disappointed not to be bottom already.

And if you think I'm a deluded fan this week, just wait for the coming weeks.......

Into week 2 and controversy strikes. Loads of people got the answers wrong and there aren't many players so... 2 people who gave the correct answer but picked a top 6 club also got the same score as everyone else who got the wrong answers XD. Well dems the rules so whatever

@mustyfrog and @Diego drew the short straw in not reading my rules (which were pretty ****ing long but hey ho) and picked Eriksen who already has 3 assists. What a little maestro.

@StanDMan not only predicted a chelsea win, but he also has Redmond with nice piece of play with gaba to get an assist this week which puts him nicely into the joint lead.

I went for Zaha as i was banking on Palace doing well. Not only am i a fool for trusting FDB who couldnt hack it at inter, this ****er was injured and forced me to play my FF wildcard

Tadic was too busy trying to score goals rather than create so @InBiscanWeTrust get full points

@Zanjinho has obviously been to busy hiding his username from work/housework/eating to bother checking that Barkley was told he'd never play again and also underwent an operation so couldn't physically play

We have our resident Newkie clowns @I am Groot and @Mbemba You're A Womble going for the ultimate wildcard in Ritchie but we all know rafa plays boring sideways football and draws his way to CL trophies.

De Bruyne hasn't managed to get an assist yet not through want of trying. @Solid_Air 2 pick has been providing some good chances but City haven't been as sharp in front of goal as they should have been

Lastly @Lucaaas went for Siggurdson but again, hes had a serious lack of game time as he's been stuck in a coutinho-esque transfer saga

 

Still not bottom

 

Diego hasn't moved off bottom since gameweek 1 of last year!

 

the only positive is that he is very consistent

 

I think once you notice my answer for next week that you will see how seriously I have taken this competition this year - and I'm still beating Diego

 

Was it Newcastle by any chance!
