Yes, and they were about as equally as effective. Only Batshuayi had a fraction of the play time. Don't get me wrong, I am in agreement that Pogba is a good player, and i'd have took him at Chelsea, and he improved as the season went on, and will likely be better next season, but he was never an £89m player, not in a month of ****ing Sundays. Nearly 3 times what we paid for Kante.
The transfer fee was always going to be inflated but I'm confident he's going to be a beast of a player.
Price tag aside, he was a very "Meh!" signing. Didn't set the world on fire, and wasn't total ****, just.....meh...... When you factor in the price tag, then it becomes an eye brow raiser........
Yeah but he kept 10 more clean sheets than Stones and conceded 12 fewer goals If you're defending well then fair enough but when you're #nailedon to concede every game then try taking one for the team Maybe the problem with young mercenaries like Stones and Lukaku is they've grown up being all about personal stats and don't give a **** for their team
I'd agree ... it's a huge price tag and it's fair to say that players who cost a lot less had better seasons overall ... Kante for one ... at £30 million was a steal in retrospect ... I'd expect Pogba to 'grow into' his price tag over the next couple of seasons ...
I'd expect Mourinho to spend half a billion pounds plugging the holes Pogba leaves everywhere and then claim he was a successful signing
He'll probably grow into his haircut first but will be a better player when Jose replaces the duffers he has to play with.
People will see the real Paul Pogba this season, He's world-class, I'm not going to change my opinion on that neither.
He clearly is, Real Madrid wanted to sign him last summer, You won't be laughing come the end of the season.
No need for the jokes, You know what I'm on about, I thought he had a good season overall, considering he has no pre-season with us as well.
