According to SSN "sources close to Fulham" have denied ever enquiring about Bastos but Remi Garde has confirmed we've made an offer.
Thanks all just thought it would be interesting to see who we got and what papers got it wrong. I've just been taking what was on the BBC Newspaper gossip column each day. If I'd gone for all the online stuff I'd probably have take up the whole 1st page by now
According to Sky we have accepted a bid from Spurs for Dempsey. Scotty Parker plus some loot and done deal !
I'd guess that Bastos would be a straight up replacement for Dempsey. Both 29, both £7m. Not convinced though, to be honest. I don't think Scott Parker would particularly suit us, although he's a decent player.
Sky now saying it's a two-way fight - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/8038065/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter He'd be brilliant alongside Diarra. And despite being very content with our signings so far, none are central midfielders. We are still desparately short of some quality in that position.
Think I'd rather have Huddlestone in a swap (or is he injured ?) but I'm sure Dempsey only wants the Liverpool deal. So last minute swap for Downing ?
I just don't think you'd play Parker alongside Diarra, they are similar players (and I think Diarra is better). Huddlestone would be perfect, but he missed the whole of last season and failed his Stoke medical... However, Parker would be an improvement over Sidwell and Baird for sure.
Have we got another Musa? James Musa a CB who played for New Zealand in the Olympics is reported to be on his way - http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/7591529/Phoenix-reject-Musa-set-to-join-Fulham
Damn, I should have staked some money on it. Honestly can't see it being another team. Essien would be a fantastic short term replacement for Dembele. Who would have thought, us signing Berbatov and Essien?
Essien would be a very good option. I'd love to see him playing alongside Diarra. Sadly, I don't see that happening though.
