Where do you find all of this stuff Sparkey? <laugh> Good to see we're trying to get some defenders but Brum hardly had the tightest defence last season.

A bit more on that "Adeyemi" bloke..........

"When it comes down to it, having been made vice-captain or not, Adeyemi is on no more than £5k per week at Blues – probably as “little” as £3k – £4k. With Cardiff City having millions of parachute money to splurge, it’s inevitable his head is going to be turned by the prospect of tripling if not quadrupling his wages to join a club that will be more than likely at the right end of the table".

Adeyemi is obviously highly regarded at Brum. However didn't Ole say he was after a midfielder with Prem experience? Adeyemi has never played in that division.

Sane looks useful and is a big guy who should dominate in the air. However, I'm always a bit sceptical about Afro/French players. Liverpool have signed quite a few over the years and they seem to blow hot and cold and move on in a year or 2, or get loaned out even earlier.

    We shall see.

Adeyemi is a big powerful midefielder and may just do the job in front of the back 4.

As it stands we could be looking at an unfit Hudson alongside Connolly who was out virtually all last seaon being protected by Gunnersson with 2 attacking full backs.

We may need to score 4 on Friday to get a draw.

We really need defensive players in asap. Anyone know how long Turner is out? Hows Digachois diet?

Haha, I think that could be the story of the season. KTC can play centre back, I wonder if he's an option?

As for Liverpool's efforts with French/African players, our bar is set a fair bit lower than theirs!

We still have our standards though Steve - regardless of how low they may be. <yikes>

Not surprised about Lewis going after his absence in the last 2 friendlies. I'm not sure about the choice of club though. I wouldn't suggest any player goes within a million miles of Blackpool at present.

If he is their only keeper does that mean when they play us normal rules apply so he can't play against his old club? Back and hand goalie for Blackpool that day then?

It is worrying the manager has not sorted out the central defensive positions for Friday in light of problems with Turner & Cala's availability.

Knowing this why did he not play Hudson against Wolfsburg instead of Cala?

Blackburn will be knocking plenty of balls towards Rudy's head, and also through the middle for Rhodes.

I fear this will be too much for Hudson & Connelly to cope with so unless we are able to score 2 or 3, it will be a tall ask to deliver some points.

Birmingham have rejected an offer for Tom Adeyemi from an "unnamed Championship club" after the midfielder handed in a transfer request.

Despite being named as Blues' vice-captain by manager Lee Clark ahead of the upcoming campaign, 22-year-old Adeyemi has been linked with a move to Cardiff.

Having come through the ranks at hometown club Norwich and spending time on loan at Bradford, Oldham and Brentford, Adeyemi joined Birmingham last summer and featured in 40 games in all competitions in his first season at St Andrews.

"A formal offer from an unnamed Sky Bet Championship club for the 22-year-old has today (Tuesday) been rejected," said a statement on City's website.

"The club will now meet with the player's representatives to discuss the transfer request further. The club has no further comment to make.

Apparently the bid for Adeyemi was only £1.5m but are willing to go to £2m. Brum want £3m so far from done. Compromises need to be made

    Oh, I didn't hear that.
Is he fit though for Friday? Papers today suggest a move to Leeds?

I think he just had a minor knock. A few of the players were rested because they had small knocks. Nothing major though, expect Noone and turner are the only ones who won't be fit for Friday.
