We have a small squad because the current owners have chosen not spend money on players. Only needs an injury or two to expose our lack of strength in depth. We had a better squad last season.
Agreed 100% but we have no luck with the red cards ogs and injuries. To have robbo and Moses injured long term is awful. They were our best players last year and both are out. It's gutting. Ignoring the ownership issue and focusing on what we have we have had no luck!
The bad news is... I don't think this team would be competitive in the championship!!!... as GLP said nothing to do with luck... are Burnley unlucky and Boro unlucky.... now Sunderland are just ****e and they look like they could steal our low points title..
Burnley must be the luckiest team in the country on today's game alone. These things usually even themselves out over the course of the season. Our squad is way too thin so it's inevitable it looks like we have bad luck and injuries more than others. Did you see subs Peter Crouch and Charlie Adam knocking the ball around at half time? That's what a PL squad looks like
Burnley have a manager who gets every player, every week, as motivated as we were the first couple of games of the season. Against Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal - Burnley have 4 points and a +1 goal difference. We have 0 points and -8 goal difference.

Cliché time: You make your own luck... Didn't listen to Burnsy, second half, but I bet he was saying to Swanny..."This will be a good point Swanny" when they scored.
Bad luck would be having 2 left backs and 2 right backs all injured at the same time. Having one senior rb and one senior lb in your whole squad who then get injured is not bad luck , its ****ing horrendous planning and management
I wish we could get passed this, "if we didn't have bad luck then we wouldn't have any luck at all," mentality. I managed to see most of the highlights on Sky tonight, unfortunately. We were lucky we didn't get hammered again. As has often been the case, simple passes, misplaced, the annoying ****ing long ball over the top to a space, which is now taken up by the opposition. The slowness to get the ball forward. Some blaming MP for the results, but you can't blame him for the players not able to pass.
Yes, but surely the lack of recruitment was not brought about by football people but once again by the appalling stewardship of the brothers Grimm.
