The first of many expected new arrivals from Australia were given a trial game for Swansea reserves at Cardiff on Wednesday.
Goalkeeper, Scott Higgins, 24, from Brisbane City and left winger Peter Henks, 22, from Ipswich Knights are the first to make the trip over to Wales since Australian-based Tony Petty took over the club earlier this month.

It is believed that Petty and his Australian associates intend to use Swansea as a platform to showcase some of Australia's most promising young players in order to attract bids from Premiership clubs.

Swansea City captain Nick Cusack said he does not object to players coming on trial, providing the current players were paid in full at the end of the month.

But he did insist that the responsibility for choosing the side should lie with manager Colin Addison and not the club's owners.

MLS season finished 23 October, they have the MLS Cup but DC United are not involved which leaves a large squad (over 35 players) kicking their heels. They are mostly ageing unknowns or kids with limited ability. But for Jason Levien they are cheap labour and he will think as they finished 4th in the MLS worthy players to add a bit of sparkle to our fortunes ( and Bob has worked with some of them before. Remember David Beckham had loads of time on his hands when the MLS season finished.

 

You can now see the bigger picture, and how clueless our boardroom is, that is why I cannot see Bob winning one game, and Huw Jenkins is a complete disgrace, we need him out of our club, as bad as Petty............

You are so right, I have got to the stage where I don't want to go to games and I don't want to read the papers, it is bad news on bad news on bad news asnd as long as we have these money grabbers in charge it is going to get worse. When we have hit where Bolton and Coventry are we will finally get our club back. We have for years taken the piss out of Cardiff and Tan, well they may just have a better deal than the one we have.
