I used to do Sunday afternoons at the Ritz cinema in BRIZ now proper job, that's how I became friendly with Pete and another band ???? and the Rebels Jack Day used to get annoyed as I would let them do another song, as they were the 2 of the better Bristol groups, I think it was 6 or 7 groups each week ... help sort the bands in and out set up stage and organise the swap overs... that was I believe late 60's also used to do a bit in the cinema film projector room swapping over the very large reels of film, projectors had no light bulbs it was done with an arcing carbon brush... hot and light intensive.... if the carriage runner missed a slot it used to stop and burn a hole through the film, a splice would take less than a minute, some films had loads of splices that is why often you had jumps in the film, often about 2-3 secs worth
