That looks great John. My Dad is in the process of restoring an old Bantam. I've got a 95% complete Bantam trials bike - purists look away. I love the simplicity.
That's good! I've just done an R75 rebuild from ground up, now looking for another project. I've spotted one or two insurance write-off Ducatis on ebay which might fit the bill.
After I got rid of the Bantam I got a tiger cub and passed my test on that bike. My friend got a new Ducati from Jordans down Story street, if you go that far back, that was a really nice bike.
I do remember Jordans, however I was riding scooters in those days so Peters down Bev Road by the railway crossing was the place to be. Or occasionally Miles at top end of Boulevard. My pal had a Tiger Cub which we used to ride on waste land round Calvert Lane way (we were underage), great fun.
My Dad has a Triumph Cub as well. 4 New Imperials, 2 Bantams, couple of Velocettes, BSA Goldstar, BSA Works Trials Bike with Sidecar amongst others. We had a Brough Superior up until the late 90s. Grown up with old British bikes.
Secret location. When my Mum died he seemed to buy another bike every bloody week. Complete count is approx 14. But he has parts to build about 7 more. Keeps him busy/happy I guess.
I've finally got round to getting my scooter registered so I can actually use it. Or more accurately, I found someone who'd take it away, sort the MOT and registration and give it back to me ready to use.
