Yes, a few times. I've been to Tresco, St. Martin's, but mostly the main island, the happily named St. Mary's. Tresco has the most beautiful beaches, but all the islands are stunning, whether you want walking, bird watching, sailing, lounging around eating and drinking, or just sitting and thinking! From Southampton the quickest way to get there is flying from Exeter or Newquay, but whichever way you go, make sure you have somewhere booked to stay, even if it's only a campsite, or you won't be allowed to fly! Alternatively if you really want to go in style, get on the Scillonian out of Penzance. One small word of advice, if I may, the islands are always called the "Isles of Scilly" and never the Scilly Isles. They seem sensitive about it for some reason!
I'd be amazed if he was....we need all the defence and the defensive midfield to be on song and familiar with each other.
A staggering number of young people write it. Now I've mentioned it, you'll start seeing it. Quick search gives these in the past couple of days on other boards. And even on this thread: Vin
The best use I ever saw of 'a lot' was when there was the English (bowler I think?) cricketer in the early 80s called Paul Allott. I remember a banner behind him saying "We like Paul A lot"
"This spelling of "a lot" is frequent in informal writing but not generally accepted by arbiters of English usage" Others like me view it as a legitimate contraction. But really who gives a ****
To keep the theme and gets back on topic. A lot of us are going to Wembley and we'll have a lorra lorra laughs....especially if we have a lot of centre backs
As the article says WS, the majority of people can so you're not being strange. We don't read words a letter at a time, we read the whole word, and because we recognise the shape of a word by its first and last letters, we can mentally rearrange the middle letters even if they are muddled. Context makes it easier though.
