Btw, I have a legit question, why is alcohol not sold on European nights? Is it because we sell Budweiser and the UCL is sponsored by Heineken, and so we're basically not allowed to sell Budweiser as a result?
im pretty sure Arsenal sell Carlsberg and I have no idea If i was to guess its probably got something to do with crowd control
But we sell it for all league-cup games, including big domestic games, so wouldnt make sense if it was just for crowd control.
Sorry i didnt state this but im pretty sure its a Uefa rule as i went to a Spurs Channel 5 match earlier this season and they weren't selling beer either
LOL, so it's all good to be sponsored by an alcoholic company though, with Heineken being one of the UCL's main sponsors. Who the **** makes these things up?
If you look when a European game is being played in France there are no advertising hoardings for Heineken as alcohol adverts are banned on French TV
I'm using my ****ing phone and my fingers are too big for the keyboard I edited the post straight away and I thought I'd got away with it
Some of UCL sponsorship rules affecting Arsenal include no mention of the Emirates stadium in the programme or on tickets.Hoods placed on the bench seats to hide the Citroen badge and perimeter advertising for Adidas even though our kit manufacturer is PUMA
Well that's an obvious different issue, more of a French national issue than UEFA. For UEFA itself though, makes no sense for them to make a rule banning alcohol on match days, when their competition's main sponsor is an alcoholic company, doesn't make sense.
Lol yes that's hardly going to make a difference, considering it's EMIRATES STADIUM which is going to get mentioned. That's all the best sponsorship you can get, having a stadium named after your brand.
The broadcasters are not meant to call it the Emirates stadium either,in the same way that Bayern Munich's stadium shouldn't be called the Allianz Arena. If you recall during the 2006 World Cup it was refered to as the Munich Arena
Never realised that. Will look out for it tomorrow on commentary. I suppose they then say in North London.
Pretty sure its meant to be referred to as Arsenal Stadium n European nights. Why not Ashburton Grove? I don't know. It was the stadium's original name before the Emirates sponsorship.
The stadium never had a name before it was called the Emirates.Ashburton Grove is just the name of the place that was originally there, the stadium was never given that name
We will continue to sell the naming rights for the stadium, it's a good stream of revenue for the club. They've extended the rights only recently with emirates.
