"What we become" by Arturo Perez-Reverte and "Bill Graham presents: my life inside rock and out" by Bill Graham and Robert Greenfield
Doesn't James Ellroy set his stories in LA? .......Read L.A. Confidential....hard work....The movie is far better than the book, though 'American Tabloid' is a good story.
It's not really Just Kids Part 2, it's more a series of anecdotes and ramblings - it's interesting, and funny; it's not the easiest read but, I'm a fan and glad I've stuck with it, I think it's best described as an insight into her ''normal'' life - she has crazy cats, loves coffee, talks about cop shows etc. If you like I can give a fuller review when I'm finished ....... tbh, I'm halfway through and I'd recommend it on the 50% I've read so far.
Interesting comment, I don't think I have ever heard anyone say a film was better than the book. I just read Truly, Madly, Guilty on holiday. Typical mindless fluff for one's jollies.
Yeah agreed. The book goes everywhere, whereas the movie is far more focused.. I lost the plot on page three hundred something...and never got it back..
The thing with a film is that what you see is someone else's idea/vision; when you read a book, YOU imagine things, it comes from YOUR mind.
Slightly off topic but tv we’ve enjoyed several cracking series about the Uk Portillos Railways Yorkshire Walks Great rivers of the world Canal journeys in the UK Digging for Britain especially the Anglo Saxon chariot and owner buried in Pocklington with two horses stood up ! I kid you not Great watches
Just reading Ratline (factual thriller) by Philippe Sands, about a Nazi fugitive on the run after WWII. A bit heavy going but quite topical because it gives a little insight into events in Ukraine and how we've ended up where we are now.
