The usual night fixture at the City Ground toplay an inconsistent Forest side although according to those pundits at Sky they are improving rapidly although based on yesterdy's showing at Derby that does seem to be a very bold prediction. They scraped home against nine man Newcastle in their last home game with the scabbiest of winners, a week before that they hammered Barnsley 5-2. Given that their last three games have been on the box it is probably a surprise that this one isn't given the amount of times they show these apparent big clubs.
At the moment Forest are 16th and as usual seem to be on the verge of a takeover which would probably spell the end for the manager Phillipe Montanier, seems a lot of supporters want the Frenchman out as well.
Last season they beat us 1-0 catching us on the break, they still appear to play the same way with players of extreme pace, they were hindered yesterday when Lansbury was ruled out just before the kick off and Assombalonga also being ruled out with a hamstring injury. They are a cosmopolitan outfit these days with players from all parts of the worls, they even have the prince of Denmark in their ranks one Nicklaus Bendtner, they also rely on home grown players such as Matty Cash who is on the radar of several top clubs.
They look to be good going forward but seem to have a few problems stopping them going in, should be an entertaining night down by the Trent.
Gallagher and McGeady may return tomorrow night, could do with Gallagher to lob some expert free kicks into the box as Forest cannot defend them.
Personal view leave Hugill out just to give him a bit of a break and play May alongside the Danish beanpole that is Makienok.
Coach job on Wednesday a freebie by the sponsors for the third 888 bet derby of the season.

North End had 18 efforts at goal 16 of which came in the first half Forest had 19 efforts at goal of which 15 came in the second half, this as they say was a game of two halves and both were entertaining.
North End should have been ahead with virtually their first attack, Robinson got behind the non existent Forest defence but was denied Stojkovic, the action was all towards the Trent End as it was in the second half. North End had three more decent efforts in the first ten minutes, then Browne hit the post from distance as Forest struggled to come to terms with us. A coupl of tame Forest efforts failed to test Maxwell as North End on the pressure, could not finish though and that sinking 1-0 defeat after dominating feeling was a thought especially as just before half time Bendtner missed a sitter, but justice was don on the stroke of half time excellent Johnson cross, Cunningham stealing in at the back post headed across goal to the unmarked Makienok who gently steered the ball into the net. Forest left the field to a chorus of boos.
The second half started with Noth End in control but an injury to Pearson changed the course of the game , this plus Forest's change of formation mean North End were now under the cosh which with the injury meant we had a midfield of untackling pygmy dwarves.
Forest ran riout shots rained in wfforts onoal only denied by the superb Maxwell, great defending and the woodwork.
The pressure told though Lichaj got into the box down the right, ball to Lam, shot hit the post and bounced in from Maxwell's back, technically silenced by the Lam.
All Forest now a goal line scrambled you tend to see in cup matches, more woodwork hit and then about five minutes from the end Forest thought they had scored the winner, following another goal mouth scramble the ball was heading towards goal when Baptiste seemed to head it against his own bar from the goal line into the grateful hands of Maxwell.
Amidst the caranage substitute Hugill had the chance to win if for North End should have done better with the first effort but headed tamely wide.
A point won or two dropped against a Forest side who at the beginning were there for the taking, suspect the majority of the 700 who made the journey will be quite happy with a point.

Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier told BBC Radio Nottingham:

"We deserved to lose the first half. The first half was awful, but we had a good reaction and a good game in the second half.

"The players showed good determination at the beginning of the second half and after that we were confident."

Preston manager Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"If you'd offered us a point before the start of the game, we'd have taken it because you expect Forest to have a reaction from the weekend's result.

"But we knew that if we got after them early on we could put them on the back foot and we did that.

"Overall I thought we had a very, very good first half. You just want to have that extra goal to go in 2-0 possibly at half-time based on how well we'd played.

"Second half, you knew there was going to be a reaction and they changed their system and had a go at us so it's a bit frustrating that we've not won the game, but the way the second half went at times I'm delighted we got another point."
