Half time 1-1 Their goal came down Page's side, where an undefended cross was met by a lovely free header in our 6 yard box. Just as the mood was turning ugly in the away end we scrambled an equaliser from a corner. Crofts and Ulvestad have been simply abysmal in the middle and I am sure Lee Novak has not touched the ball Highlight of the first half was a drunken @baraettmattesvensson in purple jacket leading a constant chant of "just sell the club" When he went for a pee at 3.30, a loud counter chant of "f*ck off Purple" went up in our end I think "Purple" had a few too many pre kick off
not gonna lie, i couldnt give a crap about todays results. i'm constantly hitting twitter refresh in the hope news breaks that roland has snuffed it.
How have we sunk this low? Officially in a relegation dog fight We lost - just in case it wasn't clear.
Rock bottom has been reached. Robinson hasn't spoken yet, but before he does bear in mind we didn't create a chance in the 2nd half. Their 2nd goal was a poor error by Teixera, giving away possession when under no pressure. Real anger in the away end at full time - you're not fit to wear the shirt" and even Jackson copped abuse at the final whistle. We are playing worse now than under Slade - fact.
Our team has got no heart, no passion and no character. Just 11 aimless and badly coached individuals playing off the cuff. Watt makes my p1ss boil. Tweeting about Teixera's flash trainers at 1pm today, he jogs onto the pitch with his shirt untucked and is visibly puffing after only 5 min as a sub. Sack him. Onl I agree. We don't create anything up front apart from at set pieces, and our defence contains more open spaces than those between Bexley Boys ears.
More egg on the face for the club. Henry winter and mark Chapman expose the fact the club asked the media to put emphasise on free coaches to Northampton. Both ignored it as they could see it was to distract from Belgium. But lessons have been learnt etc etc zzzz
Robinson is a massive part of the problem if they ain't got passion and unmotivated who carries the can for that mouthy Robinson
We wouldn't be in a relegation battle with these players under Slade. His brand of football was awful, but he would have nicked enough points to see us comfortably to mid table. At the very least he had us defensively organised and in shape. There was one moment in the first half yesterday when Byrne and Botaka were totally missing, and the Northampton attacker didn't have a Charlton player within 20 yards of him when he received the ball down our right side. Under Robinson we are neither a counter attacking side or a side that presses the ball. We just hoof it aimlessly, or play 25 a side playground football where everyone does what they want. Under Robinson our most potent attacking threat and biggest defensive liability is Teixera. Why, at 1pm on a match day, is Robinson allowing Watt, Teixera and Bauer to mess about on their mobile phones ? They should be focusing on their games. On the evidence of the first 20 games, as opposed to the BS that comes out of his mouth, Robinson really is a very poor manager. The thought of him making it through to the summer and then signing even more players of the standard of Lewis Page is really worrying.
A bit off topic but did anyone see the tweets from Henry Winter and Mark Chapman? They recieved emails from the club asking them to emphasize the free coaches/breakfast thing. Seems as if once again the club are trying to manipulate the media. Embarrassing, but it does suggest Smirking Katrien and Roland Rat are not happy about yesterday Shame they could'nt put the same energy into running the club properly. Great work by the protesters - another zero for the SMT.
It backfired in more ways the one Ken. Our 5 free coaches arrived at Sixfields before the team coach yesterday. Our fans were therefore hanging around when the players arrived. I was there when Robinson stepped off the coach, and he was loudly booed
Each manager is worse than the last, each season is worse than the last, we've got more chance of being non-league in 2 seasons than championship, that is bloody scary!!
Not at all. We will have a "top 3 budget" in League 2 next season, and Chris O'Loughlin will be given plenty of time to bring his own Network players in. (Once Thomas Driesen has scouted them on his Play Station)
I really enjoyed yesterday, apart from the long coach journey home. I'd go again if the organisers could be bothered doing it all again, and so would everyone else I spoke to. The locals were very friendly and supportive, not just the St Truidens fans, but those we passed in the street, even some who were looking out of their windows and giving us the thumbs up and clapping. Roland appears to be a rather unpopular man. The march took about 45 minutes, we walked slowly to make it last, and we sang all the protest song with great gusto from start to finish, minus obscenities. No-one seemed to be under any illusion that one protest would shift him, but thought that if there was the prospect of more and more that might do the trick. There was a recording of the first half of the match on the big screen in the pub where the 2% Band was playing, and those who think that protestors are not supporters should have heard the roar that went up when Charlton scored. On the coach home someone played a recording of KR's post-match interview, Bloody hell!
Jokes aside, Sadie makes a very valid point. We squandered a 'top six' budget this year to build a relegation bid. No depth is beyond these people There seems to be a bit of revisionism about Slade. Maybe we believed the hype about the squad, while Slade saw the grim reality, but the football was dire, and the team was the one Slade supposedly wanted. KR may be worse, but the roots of the disaster that is this season were planted by Slade.
