... all very strange this ... http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/f...derby-county/story-29790153-detail/story.html
Shame, such a shame. My advice to him would be to take time out of the game or to take a club in the lower leagues. Go back to enjoying life, because what's happened to him over the last few years has clearly snapped something in his mind. I saw him in a press conference about 3 weeks ago and the bloke looked twenty years older. I hope he gets his career back on track because he's still relatively young and he's clearly hugely talented at bringing players together.
If I was him, I would book 3 months in Barbados (leaving his son behind). Supposedly a £3m payoff rumoured.
At least it wasn't related to the Telegraph sting. I'm not sure how much more of a break he needs, he had a year off after he left us.
Don't think Pearson will be given a club with a short term goal next time, guess he'll be back to clubs that need rebuilding with no instant expectations.
On the basis of 3rd & 2nd Division titles and failed tenures elsewhere? If he is great and outstanding what does that make Warnock and Bruce and premier league winning managers?
Hes outstanding when your clubs in trouble, as he'll take no **** from anyone. As for clubs like Derby looking at instant success, hes failed tbh. With us and Hull he had time to really get his own team together and look where we both are now. This latest catastrophe does call into question how important Walsh and Shakey were for him though.
Neil Warnock is looking for an 8th promotion ... but I think what he managed with Rotheram last season from the position they were in and with no money was quite incredible ...
Warnock, Pearson and the like get stick because, generally, they're arseholes. But there's no denying their abilities and they've proven that time and time again.
