    Re-generation.
Not just the new stadium with other events taking place there-NFL- but there will be a hotel and the whole area needs an uplift just like Stratford did.
All part of upgrading an underground built years ago before the population growth.

Transport links to WHL have been woefully inadequate for decades, so given the fact that we're almost doubling our capacity, as well as adding a vastly expanded club shop and a large museum, I'd say that an upgrade is needed urgently.

The other and probably simplest explanation is to bear in mind that planning permission in this country - more so in London than other cities - is essentially granted on a 'rub my back' basis. A local council won't approve a scheme, even if it is clearly beneficial to the area (the new stadium alone is creating thousands of new jobs), unless they gain plentifully off the back of the plans. Thus: we'll sign off on your shiny new stadium if you commit to updating public transport, infrastructure, parking facilities etc. oh, and could you also throw in a few parks, playgrounds, a new supermarket and a block of flats while you're at it? Cheers baldy.

This is another reason why the London Stadium deal was so criminal....West Ham were allowed to decimate an area by moving out, and faced no extra costs by moving in to the most recently upgraded area in all of London. No other football team has been or will be allowed to get away with such stinginess.

So, as of yesterday White Hart Lane had less than half a stand remaining...

This is going to be completed in 12 months? Very ambitious deadline judging by that photo. You might well be starting off life with one end still missing, rather like Athletic Bilbao who constructed the new San Memes out of the old one, as you are constructing the yet to be named stadium out of WHL. Maybe Tottenham should have a twinning association with said Basque club as there are similarities, not only regarding stadiums but also on player recruitment in that both clubs prefer to promote youth, in Bilbao's case it is club policy, with your club it might be dictated by finances regarding the new stadium and also to some extent by the Chairman's choice.

That was a week ago. A week is a long time in new WHL.

You know nothing. Don't judge by that photo.
    One end is already up.
    Working round the clock.

It is a phenominal project and should be superb once it is operational. OK, Barca or Real to be invited for the official opening, or someone else.

Some areas are ahead of schedule and some are slightly behind, which is understandable given the size of the project. Apparently if the first stages of the roof are ready in January, then we are well on schedule to complete and be ready for the 18/19 season.

It has to be The Gooners. In an homage to 70's and 80's Game Shows, there should a be the "This is what you could have had!" moment and then we get to look at the disappointment on their little faces.

First opponent should be Notts County.

Slightly behind schedule due to the recent ****e weather, but the day has finally arrived. Esteemed fellow Yids, the Lane is no more. That pile of rubble in the top left corner is all that's left of the South stand.

@"Thanks for that Brian" I'd recommend you pour yourself a large glass of something rather strong. In fact, pure alcohol vapour might be a better idea. This is going to hurt. A lot.

The Lane is dead, long live the Lane! <rose>

I thought that "pile of rubble" could have been your lovely North London neighbours. Well apparently, Sevilla made them look like that this afternoon at the Emirates.

I think they were too busy having a collective **** over Lacazette's first goal at the Library to notice or even to care. And they won the Emirates Cup too, which bodes well for a 4th place finish next season <ok>
