Many Man Utd fans consider him to be a long term prospect for their manager, and he has already managed their reserves, so it makes perfect sense for him to be promoted to their feeder club
You know what the city rumour mill is like Big Biff I've had a buzz this week spreading Pulis rumours I must admit
The Lennon money is coming from his home town, so I'd assume he's been sounded out & it's being taken as "he's got the job" by the time it reached the local alehouse, same as what happened in Kirkby with Stubbs. It's between Martinez & Pereira. No Blue with an ounce would have been taken in by your Pulis 'joke' mate
Looks like Everton are waiting for everyone else to choose their manager, then they will hope to pick up the scraps on the cheap...
At least we're not going round Europe embarrassing ourselves by asking managers who wouldn't touch us with a ****ty stick, to come & interview....like a certain other club did not so long ago.....Pep, Klopp, Ancelotti?.......& you're left with the gobshite that is....... Brendan Rodgers

everton are waiting for Martinez to make his mind up....the job is his if he wants it....Its a massive decision he has to make so its fair that he is given a little time to decide....He turned liverpool down so you cant predict on what he will do...you will know soon whatever he decides...
I would like to see what Martinez could do with a club like Everton, he is pretty loyal and wants his teams to play nice football. It could work well with the extra quality Everton have imo.
Yep just seen that he's resigned as manager at Wigan, so think he's coming to you. Obviously he must feel Everton are bigger than Liverpool as he turned then down last year best of luck if he comes your way
I suspect most Evertonians would be concerned about his teams' defensive frailties. I would be. Did it with us and at Wigan. Having said that I really like Everton (despite you doing the double on us ) and I wish him well if he goes to you.
Yeah, kinda mixed feelings for me really. On the one hand, I'd have liked to see him give us one more season, for the Europa League and a tilt at getting promoted - but I remember what happened with Paul Jewell who should really have moved on at the end of our first season in the PL when his stock was high. I don't think his career has ever recovered from that, so I'm not sure I can blame Bobby for going off the back of the FA Cup win. But I can't shake the feeling that Bobby going means we'll lose even more of our first team squad, making a successful 13/14 seem less likely. On the whole I wish him well. I have a suspicion that, if he does go to Everton, it could turn out to be a marriage made in heaven.
agree with that mabon to be honest, His record at wigan is very poor since jewel had them a mid table team, He scraped home just last season and he took them down this season so his time at wigan has not progressed...what he does have the knack of doing is getting some good results against the big teams but as proved over the last couple of seasons that its not enough.....He will be the cheapest option i suppose and you never know he might do something, but it a hell of a gamble to take by the everton owners....I will watch with interest....
As did Rodgers, the first choice. Think everyone gave them short shrift for that Director of Football, under-manager crap.
Btw tobes, if it is Martinez (and you know I'm an admirer) would you expect him to bring Mcmanaman with him? Cracking player he is.
