Pearson told the players on Thursday 'ignore all the nonsense, I'm not going anywhere'. And no, I'm not Matty Fryatt is disguise and I wasn't there, but Robert Koren was and that's a direct quote from him(though I'm sure some of you will claim that it's made up, or he was lying, or he only speaks Slovenian, or some other such nonsense).
If Nigel would tell the players we wouldnt he tell the media? I think Nigel wants us to approach him. He is at least interested to hear what we have to offer
Yeah, if he wasn't interested, it would be best for all parties for him to nip it in the bud I would have thought. I still don't think we'll get to speak to him because I doubt Hull will give us permission and then I can't see Nigel kicking up a fuss to leave. Especially if he isn't 100% sure which I don't think he is.
I think he tried to sign Neil Danns. I've always said that the new manager will inherit a squad that doesn't need much work doing to it and one that only needs minor adjustments according to the manager's preferences. The only priority for whoever will be a winger and then it is a squad that, on paper, should be right up there challenging for promotion.
So at least he now knows that Leicester aer a club that wouldn't stand in his way of opportunity and Hull are a club that does Do you really want to keep a manager that doesn't want to be there?
He does want to be here, so it doesn't apply. When Nigel came to us, he told me that if Leicester had declined our approach, then he would have been happy to stay there, but the minute they accepted the approach, he knew his time as Leicester manager was over. It was very obvious that he was annoyed at the way he'd been treated at Leicester, he also knows that his departure was contributed to by your current owners who wanted a bigger name, I can't really see why you think he'd even consider returning.
Let's see how this pans out - I have a suspicion that you are privately ****ting it - Not that you'd admit that on here
I'll obviously be glad when all this speculation is over, but as I know he was pissed off when he left you and that he's already told all our players he's not interested, I'm not overly concerned. I'm out with him on Tuesday night, so I can find out for sure then anyway.
Well if I'd known you and yer mate Nige went out for a couple of beers and a game of pool on a Tuesday I wouldn't have said anything - Clearly he wouldn't wanna move away from his bessie
Its down to Nigel now what happens. It will be interesting to see if he comes to watch our game later as Hull cant stop him doing that
Ordinarily, it would make sense for him to come and watch because, of all the teams playing today, we're the first to play them (in a month's time) but I doubt he will now. He might send Shakespeare now or probably wait until the Palace game in two Sunday's time because by then we'll have a new manager (whether it's him or not) and they play away at Derby the day before so Geographically it makes more sense. I doubt Nigel would be foolish enough to come here after what's happened today.
Why if he does want to be our new manager he will want to see the players Hull cant stop him coming as he can easily pay to go in as a supporter would
Oh, I thought you meant come on a scouting mission. Even then though, Nigel Pearson isn't going to pay to sit amongst the fans in the King Power. And if he came in the director's box, I think that would be extremely disrespectful to Hull City and we know that Nigel prides himself on conducting himself well and his integrity and so forth so I don't think we'll see him here unless he planned to come on a scouting trip but even if he did, I doubt he will now.
Why would any manager unless they are desperate come to you as you obviously do not show your managers any loyalty whatsoever these days.If I was a manager I would really have to ask myself some searching questions like: 1. Am I that desperate for the money? 2. Will this harm my reputation? 3. Can I definitely get this team up this season when another supposedly great manager has failed to get them firing 4. Do I want to give up my job security for a short term attempt at getting into the premiership? 5. Am I that desperate? I would hazard a guess that Pearson would have looked at all these points from his home in Sheffield and come to a conclusion that he is not that shallow and that he would maybe use the situation to his and his team's advantage at Hull. If he does go then he will still have my thanks for the team he has built for us so far albeit it unfinished.
