Never heard of him, but as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so I'll support him until he makes his position untenable. However, the main things that concern me are: * No Championship experience - in fact no UK experience * Never managed a big club or big players * Never won promotion * Has no 'hidden gem' players to bring with him (á la Bartley) So I have to ask - what are his good points? WTF did he say to impress? How can his CV read anything but SHIITE? Who TF recommended him?
"I will work for peanuts, will accept a DOF that has caused chaos at his last club, I wont complain and I wont tell anyone Celling secretly still owns and runs the club".
Cellino has gone chips Rad by his own confession is not a football person and I did tell you he doesn't have the ready Cellino family cash, You will be run like a business decisions will be business decisions which at present will be cheap options until he gets others on board with dosh I think he will be successful but its going to be a slow process and not an overnite fix His instant priority is keeping you afloat in the Championship for at least 2 or 3 years your big problems will come if theres relegation fans want success today I think he said 5 years be patient its only been 5 weeks
wait till you see the quality of players you sign will be a hint wether you sink or swim please log in to view this image
Have to say I'm underwhelmed but will reserve judgement until we have played a few games and signed some decent players...or not.
Granted he never ran a big club but 71 wins and 25 losses as a manager is nothing to sneeze at . Probably has links to players in Spain , Germany and Denmark . Laudrup had no Premier League expierence but took us through a great domestic season including the League Cup . I hope for Leeds sake , that he's a diamond in the managerial rough . Any word if Clotet will play a part ?
Jock is 100% correct but Im goung to play devils advocate, thats advocate not the yellow drink Shaks. 59% win ratio, won the league, super cup & got a nomark club to last 16 in Europa league. His coaching is supposed to be top end & the badges he has are the envy of Hockaday. Top player & top goal scorer and golden boot winner in Germany. Understands the DoF set up & knows Orta & Bravo from Spain & Middle East academy situation. He will trust the players the club buys, which is a new way of working for us fans. We could have had Ranieri & we may not have won a match for 3 months, we would have grumbled. Lets just pretend we have atop end coach who will get us some great results and win promotion this season. Get behind him until you cant anymore.
I was doing ok with that Doc till you got to the we could have got Ranieri bit. No we couldn't cos we pay peanuts in football terms and Ranieri would have cost likely a couple of million a season. Only the bookies had him in the mix as Ranieri himself dismissed there had been any approaches
Like a lot of people on here, I've no idea what he's going to be like. Never heard of him. But I will support him and I'm not going to slag him off before he's even started.
Apoel have won the League 6 times in 7 seasons - so was a given. Reason they were in the Europa League in the first place was because they were dumped out of the Champions League before the group stages. APOEL fan Philip Chimonas "He managed APOEL in a league which has very limited financial resources and players - but APOEL are by far the richest team in Cyprus so in a way there isn’t much competition from other teams. "This was the worst APOEL team I have seen in years, even though they won the league and reached the last 16 of the Europa League. "APOEL reached the final eight in the Champions League a few years ago because they are now experienced with European games and have a a very strong home record. "Since Christiansen joined APOEL he has done nothing to improve the team by buying new players or implementing new tactics. His favoured formation is 4-4-2 and the best thing he did for APOEL is sign Giannis Gianniotas on loan from Olympiakos in Greece. "During his tenure with APOEL I have not witnessed any attempts from him to try new formations, move players around or give the fans something to watch. "I think he's somehow dazzled Andrea Radrizzani to get the job. In my opinion, he won’t be there for long."
