just bought an Audi A5 convertible ready for the summer! I vowed I wouldn't buy Audi again after a disastrous experiment with an A6 back in 2005/6 but once I drove it I was hooked. It was that or a Merc E-Class convertible. I'm having a mid-life crisis!!!!
Don't think you're having a mid-life crisis at all, you've earned it, spend it, it isn't a rehearsal. I have an Audi Q3 which has given me trouble from day 1 so reverting back to a Volvo XC60 in March. (Mrs R's mobility scooter means we must have a car with a large boot).
Bought my daughter a mini today. She had no idea so when she arrived home with her mates from school I parked around the corner and drive towards her. Think she nearly peed her pants with excitement. I've a C Class Merc and my wife has a 4 series BMW. I always say to my wife she's not sophisticated to drive a Merc. But those words have come back to haunt me as I'm back in a company car soon and she's taking the Merc over as hers is due renewal. I do like the Audi though so hoping there is a A4 in the pool when I choose the company car again.
Always BMW man myself but progress tells me I have to have all this electronic crap to make the drive better, and then they add run flat tires (what German idiot came up with one thing to ruin a ride and guarantee a cold several hours miles from nowhere?) Have they looked at the map of Canada lately?
Because of the circumstances, I decided to opt back onto the company car scheme. Mine has just under two years left in it and my wife's is up for renewal Feb. Opting back in saves being left with a car when they decide it's time to put me out to pasture.
I had several company cars over the years, Mercedes C-Class estate, VW Sharan, BMW 5 Series (2010) etc. But am now happy with a privately owned Mondeo and considerably better off tax wise.
Me just changed the Merc E-Class Saloon to a GLA AMG four wheel drive. and changed a A class AMG to another A class AMG. Merc over BMW for me,believe me i see the difference in the workshops between these two manufacturers. My best mate just moved his Audi Q5 QUATTRO on for a Merc GLC AMG. Bet you did not know this, guess where Audis are now assembled. MEXICO oooooooooooooooo no longer in Germany, think of all the lovely salty water, and Air, when parting with your hard earned cash.
I've never liked BMWs - although very responsive and powerful they have always seemed plastic and well, rather crap to be honest - a bit like a very fast and powerful Austin maestro. Still, loads of people love them so what do I know.....?
Just in case you didn't know Mexico is a big country and lots of parts of it can be further away from the sea than Germany mate. See every days a school day
Apparently parts are shipped in by boat, then the cars are shipped back finished. Plenty of salty water, and air crossing the pond.
