Been seeing a lot of rumours on twitter that Koscielny is our new captain.
Let's take a look at the other candidates
Mertesacker: leads by example experienced professional has had the armband alot other the past few seasons but probably won't start alot
Cech: My choice only been with us a season but is a very calming influence and bags of experience
Ramsey: Captained Wales at a young age not a guaranteed starter
Santi: leads by example always positive on and off the field
Ozil: Not and obvious choice but guaranteed to start when fit won almost everything, played in a lot of high pressure matches unselfish and has the respect of his team mates

TBH Ramsey wasn't a great captain for Wales, Ashley Williams was always a much more sensible choice, and the responsibility seemed to restrict Ramsey.

In my opinion it has to be out of Cech, Kos, Merts and Coq. You can argue that Merts and Coq can be discounted as they may not be guaranteed starters (depending on CB signing and how Wenger slots in Xhaka). So it's out of Kos and Cech, unless you want to give the armband to Sanchez or Xhaka...

Kos while a great player is liable sometimes to do stupid things and is a little quiet, not necessarily a bad thing, but I think it has to be Cech personally.

    Id agree with Cech.
Professional, respected, experienced, vocal, and 1st choice in his position so will start most games.

I don't think ozil is (vice) captain material, he seems a nice, quiet guy who just gets on with things on his own. A better vice-captain candidate might be merts for continuity, kos, sanchez or coq

The only logical choice for me would be Cech. He's literally the first name on the team sheet, intelligent, commands respect and will lead from the front. The problem we have is a lack of leaders on the pitch. Wilshere would have been my other choice, as he has plenty of grit and determination, but is too injury prone and isn't an automatic choice for selection.

Compare this team to our Invincibles team, you could pick over half of them as potential captain material. Our defence was all mentally strong and capable MEN. Someone like Adams would have Kos for breakfast.
