    From Journo on twitter:

Scottwilsonecho: My understanding is that Pavlyuchenko could be offered as bait, on top of about £18m cash. Still expect #NUFC to say No mind.

Crap offer. I dont quite understand which part of "Carroll is not for sale at any price" Spurs can't get into their thick heads.

Prob the fact that Spurs know Cashley.

More Cash + Cashley = More Pies. ;)

Would be a good deal but to sell him so close to the window would be suicidal and could be the difference between finishing say 7th and qualifying for Europe (unlikely I Know) or finishing 18th (again unlikely I know), totally not worth it, look at what happened when we sold Given.

no, dont sell carrol for any less than 40m in my opinion. he's too good to go at this age, i think he will leave in a couple of years but lets get another 2 1/2 season out of him.

    Pardew:
"He's not going to Spurs, he's not going anywhere,"

"It's been going on and on, it's ridiculous, we've said he's not for sale,"

“Andy is not for sale, again,”

"He's not for sale, how many times does it have to be said? They can put together whatever they like. He is not for sale.

"I am going to say it one last time, he is not for sale,"

“The club would like to make it clear for the very last time that Carroll is simply not for sale.”

    Carroll:

"It doesn't matter what other people or other teams are saying. This is the club I wanted to sign for.

"I signed a new contract and I want to be here for the rest of my life.

“I’ve always worked towards being where I am now and want to stay here – it’s as simple as that.”

"I don't want to leave. It's always been my ambition to play for Newcastle United and score goals at St James' Park, and that's what I've been able to do.

"For me, I only want to play for Newcastle."

"I'm happy here and I want to stay."

    'Arry:

"I never made a bid for Andy Carroll"

it could be that it's just easy to repeat a story for column inches

Ever the wise one, dear Beatski

However it's a legitimate concern to vent our frustration and fear of selling a player like Andy Carroll, and we need something important to drama about since the last big story at dramacastle

True, what would "Northeastenders" be without rumour abound?
