Prediction League Nearly that time again.

As the fixtures are now out I thought it suitable for a new thread.

Bri was going to try something different this time but unfortunately it cannot be. It is time consuming and the lad simply has far too much on. Family priorities come first which is exactly as it should be.

It looks like last years system again unless anyone else has other ideas or wants to take it on.

I don`t mind doing it but with restrictions. From memory the number of Saturday fixtures were about on a par with the prem weekend. If there are games almost every week day, trying to include all of them is just going to take a daft amount of time.

Views, ideas and volunteers most welcome.

 

Appreciate you stepping up again Pops, sure I speak for everyone there.

The Championship might be a nightmare with 2 games per team per week, some on Fridays/Mondays etc etc.

A suggestion, why not hand pick 9 games only on a Saturday + the SAFC game on the weekend - and have people guess those results. Could be restricted to England or if you want to mix it up potentially add games from abroad?

Might actually take part this time instead of for the first month or so!!

Was trying to keep it simple mate as in a single block on Saturdays rather than spread it out.

Saturdays plus our own `extras` might work though. That should be manageable.

Giacc has an idea. Obviously including our game why don't you pick 10 games per weekend (ignore all midweek fixtures) from Premier league, championship, Spain etc where everyone just puts their prediction to? Keeps it simple (ish) as it doesn't really matter which games are selected. Still think 2 points for a correct result and an extra 2 for the correct score.

 

I`ll have to think about that one. Don`t really want to be spending much time looking through other leagues for fixtures and again for the results. It all mounts up.

Must admit I quite like the idea of the Saturday fixtures plus any of our own mid week. We will be watching other teams results in our own league anyway as a matter of course so that would work.


The points system aint a problem. We can do what we like with that.

 

Could just pick a couple from Spain and a couple from Italy and rest from our league - just mixes it up a bit that's all.

Naturally I'm happy with whatever you're happy with.

 

Whatever is easiest for you pops, as has been said, we all appreciate everthing you do with this.

 

Pops, I'm happy to run it this year, if you want a break. Up to you but the offer is there.

I would go with Saturday Championship fixtures and if SAFC are not playing then put them in as an extra, be it Friday, Sunday etc.
Happy to go with whatever is finalised and appreciate the work done by you lads.
