Just had my first ever naanbab and quite frankly it's the most delicious thing I have ever tasted!! Quite why they can't be found south of Sunderland I will never know, but I shall be spreading the word to my Yorkie brethren.
Reading the Goggle page it's nowt but a naan bread with a variety of stuffing of choice. Back in the olden days the big eat for the lads in Cyprus was a kebab made of goat and sheep meat put in a warm naan bread with a few herbs etc. Went down well after a few Keo's. A rose by any other name.
I'd have one. What's everyone's kebab of choice, one of our local takeaways does good quality doner meat and marinated chicken so I get that combo, minus their hot sauce which isn't really hot but tastes like sick and red cabbage which is rank.
I used to get one of these in Manchester, back in 1990! Chicken tikka, shredded cabbage, salad, onion, toms and yoghurt & chilli. They were massive, from a great Indian/kebab place on Wilmslow Rd. They had two places - one by Gt Western St/Rd in lovely Rushilme and another by Sherwood St in Fallowfield. A frequent Friday night purchase after a few swallies. I can visualise the place but can't remember the name. Happy days.
