I am keeping a totally open mind about JD as he may struggle to find a club who would pay him the wage we are reported to have done. There is also the matter of his age as many clubs would not fancy given a 34 YO more than a season at a time. It could be made up with a signing on fee but he would need some pretty good negotiation to get a big one.
We may see this next season -we should have seen it this season and while we had a goalscorer doing the buzzing (& that's not Borini) But it'll not happen with Moyes (who'll probably be here) or with Defoe (probably going) Iiving in hope of being probably totally wrong - lol It's a tough life supporting Sunderland
O Would you keep hold of Cattermole then, I ask this question not out of mischief but just wondering where you would draw the line, we don't know what sort of money we are talking about for sure, but for me, Big Vic makes as big a contribution as Catts does to the team in a harder role to replace, and we might get a fee for Catts.
Well that's a bit different as he's under contract. But Catts is in the same cattagory as the majority of under contract players for me. If we get an adequate offer, let him go.
Enjoy and hopefully there'll be some national football silverware bound for the mackem area south of the dark side Then Hoolioo to return to the lads coaching team with SKP - ...... Moyes needs to go as I feel almost as low as pre Drummaville ...
Agree there as we all know to be a manager/coach up here you need to have ideally a connection to the club (NE culture), media friendly, motivator and most importantly p o s I t I v e
How patient can we be at the start of next season ? Wether it's Moyes or a.n.other, regardless of individual/players/team, we don't win in August or September anyway. Can we wait til October before forming judgement ?
Regardless of how poor I think Moyes is, I think we have to be infinitely patient. The crowd getting on people's backs and creating a poisonous atmosphere inside the ground isn't going to help our cause. Especially if the side is composed of young players, who's confidence may be affected by such things. Ultimately, no matter what any of us think of Moyes or Short or any of the individual players, its in everyone's interest to pull together. A new team, which we're undoubtedly likely to have, is going to take time to get to know each other and to get firing on all cylinders. That could potentially take up until Christmas.
