It's basically the words mate, lad, la, boss, right, batter/ered and rubbish defending, Maggie. I think. My Scouse translation isn't what it used to be. I wasn't expecting an actual Liverpudlian to support Liverpool, to be fair.
I love it the way the mousers are ****ing it up lately anyone would think that the boomtown rats had a role in it ie RAT TRAP
Liverpool should get top 4 as they have an easier run in than most. No distractions left for them unlike Man Utd (Europa Cup) and Arsenal (FA Cup and rampant Wenger whinging). If they do, then they are going to struggle unless the board loosen the purse strings as no European football has helped them massively this season (yet they are still a bit cack even with this help).
It's becoming a sobering season for the Mousers. Sure, with no European football they have done somewhat better in the league. However, there's little progress in their mentality. Even in MP's first season we were learning to win games late and in the second season a real pattern and steel emerged. Currently, the Mousers' defence is as bad as ever. They're dodgy against teams they should beat and are at best a cup team who rise to the big occasion. Henderson has a recurring foot problem. Matip seems physically fragile. Without Mane they are lightweight. There's little progress given this year was a 'free hit' without EL. If they get no CL again players like Mane, Coutinho and Mignolet could be tempted away by someone.
Will certainly be interesting to compare how well they do without their 'talisman' striker to how we have done without Harry. I maybe proved wrong but have a feeling they will find it hard going based on Mane's previous absences.
I'm hoping that doesn't allow Arsenal into the top 4 via the backdoor, though. I'd rather 'Pool finish top 4 (although below us, of course), than the Gunners.
Liverpool's win percentage: With Mane in the side: 67% Without Mane in the side: 27% Source: http://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=1563&teamTabs=results That's pretty hard to believe, isn't it? Massive impact. Their three wins without him were all cup games, too. That will change though, I'm sure.
Those Mane stats are astonishing. Notably because they also suggest that while he is playing, accommodating his style of play makes the Poool defence very fragile (shades of their 2013-14 season) .
They'll be okay as long as Plymouth and Wolves don't qualify. They're quite good at the cups, until 'The Curse of Klopp' strikes in the final.
Yeah, better than Spurs ever have no doubt if it happens and should Spurs ever win the CL you'll have even more bragging rights.
I think Billy meant more in terms of how you'd approach it and how the extra games could affect your league form. It can be a very, very long competition with some really dodgy grounds in far away countries and your squad looks a bit thin. That could be addressed in the summer, of course.
doesn't just look thin it was/is practically anorexic. Klopp got rid of quite a bit of the deadwood plus offers so generous they couldn't be turned down but then couldn't get the targets he wanted and refused to buy unless he really wanted them.* Think we will be doing a lot of business in the summer wherever we finish as Henderson clearly has a long term injury problem and Studge is a goner and the need for more strength in depth is clearly required. * This is obviously my and other LFC fans reading of the situation and is not necessarily the truth the whole truth & nothing but the truth.
What's an "easier run in" when dropped points include defeats at Hull, Bournemouth & Burnley and at home to Swansea?
an easier run for us would have been Arsenal , Spurs , Chelsea , Man City Everton Man Utd & someone else. In other words no one we are "expected" to beat as we won't
It's tough when good players succumb to recurrent injury. We lost Lesley and Rafa van der Vaart at the same time as Modric and 'Arry was sacked. If you sell Coutinho this summer and Mane next you'll know what a sickener it can be as when we lost Bale and Modricand on top of the other two. Klopp' would go as well to welcome Brendan back (as per our appointment of AVB.)
Feel for Henderson as a good / decent PL player but does need his physical abilities to be effective as without them he is toast . If Coutinho goes it will be for big money and probably to Spain It will hardly be new to us as we lost Suarez & Sterling in consecutive seasons & Sturridge still hasn't recovered from his broken finger nail.If it happens we just need to spend the money better than when Suarez went.
