Interesting runner at Navan- 5.25 EASTON ANGEL looks to have been sold by Al Shaqb and moved to Aidens and bought by David Wachman. Was a decent horse for Michael Dodds and Is in foal too apparently so interesting to see how she fares
Interesting to see some old colours being worn on horses with a new trainer. Malcolm Denmark has two bumper runners today with the forum favourite Fergal O'Brien. These two may not be the next Monsignor but it will be interesting to see how that partnership progresses. Another hole shot in the Pipe training dynasty?
What never run in a race outside of novice company?!? Cor blimey Malcolm Denmark now there is a chap who has spent a lot of money, on bloodstock, and saw a relatively small return. Has also fallen out with a countless number of trainers.
Really think one of the Roger’s will have a winner at Lingers Park this eve – Mr Varian with SHARGIAH (6.30). This one did very little in his opening 2 runs but showed a good attitude to win at Rippers, last time out, back in July. Looks likely to prove much better, in time, than his perch of 81 (half-brother to a Group 2 winner) and the fact that connections are persavering with him speaks volumes. Can start his 2017 campaign with a victory here. I can report that old boy Jerry Corbyn was in the county on Friday. The ‘court order’ though meant that I couldn’t go and say hello. He’s as mad as a box of frogs, of course, but I don’t think Jerry’s actually that bad an egg. He’s certainly got the right idea re those Saxe-Coburgs! Incidentally, re them has anyone noticed how this past week a few of them have been going out of their way to be seen to be ‘doing good’ rather than simply cashing their giro behind closed doors?!? There’s nothing that terrifies a Saxe-Coburg more than the possibility of someone like old boy Jerry getting in or far, far, far more likely a strong Governement with a whopping majority! The latter can be almost Dictarioral, of course with the powers to wipe out most things! Good luck all.
I seem to remember that for about 5 years Monsignor was always ‘a few weeks from a return’. But, of course, he never did. At least it was commendable that they never forced him onto the track when not 100%. Will always be a case of ‘what might have been’ re this one. In retirement though the old boy did used to parade at a lot of racecourses and charity days.
Mr Nicholls and Mr Henderson not exactly firing everything at the big race at Sandown on Saturday. The former has 3 possibles and the latter just 2. In fact only 17 remain in the race.
Glad to see there is support for ALL CURRENCIES. Backed him at 9's last night. He put in a shocker last time but if he ran to his Ascot form he would surely win this!
Spencer would get Frankel beaten, useless & arrogant jockey; cant understand how he still gets decent rides.
Make you sick wouldn't it-mate of mine got word from the yard about that an hour ago, he isnt a happy bunny-Didnt want to win that the prick! So much fiddling goes on in this game, really leaves a sour taste in the mouth when you see such a blatant hold up job
