Just had the german correspondent on talksport and said that werder bremen may have been put off niko kranjkaer because their last premier league import Silvestre had been "Unquestionably horribly bad" I know what they mean, he was shocking, how did we get arsenal to pay for him I will never know.
I always liked Silvestre, except his habit of giving away needless free kicks (which I think Rafael has somehow inherited).
Silvestre was a good player when United first had him, his game worked well up till the point we signed Heinze, after that he seemed to loose it, shame was a good left back and very capable centreback before that, though could be a bit of a liability. Was a great bit of buisness to sell him to Arsenal though, made me chuckle at the time
Stupid reason to pull out of a deal. It's like us pulling out of a deal for Djemba Djemba just because Bellion played in France and was awful in the PL.....oh
