    In the words of spanish...FFS!!
The little money we will be spending, and he wastes it on a no mark.
Very poor signing, and smacks of desperation .
I could understand it if it was deadline day and there was no one else, but there's still two months away

We know from this signing that the style of football next season won't be changing! <yikes>

Good luck to all those season ticket holders who have paid their hard earned to watch this sower of ****e! <ok>

Trying to find the best way to describe my thoughts on this signing. I spoke to a Hearts fan on the bus back from work to find out what Garner is like - he said workrate topnotch he'll put his head in etc so straight away I thought " a very Mick like signing ".

Clearly other clubs are going to spend more than us this summer and make the sexy signings that we won't - it doesn't make challenging for the top 6 remotely easy. That said - IF we're not going to spend quite a bit this summer, then there's no point in trying to play good football as ££££ is needed to sign an array of players to play that way.

I think the only chance available for Mick is a 14/15 style season and us being an absolute nuisance to play against. If we try under him or another gafa to be open and expansive I think we're really in the mire and potentially in a dogfight. Don't get me wrong I want us to play sexy stuff but there really is no point in trying to play such a way when the budget doesn't allow us to sign the players capable of doing so.

If he's Alan Lee / Murphy or a signing like that then welcome. Hopefully more Lee than Sam Parkin....

You can thank the tv deal from last summer which has pushed everything up ridiculously. For non - Premier league clubs at the minute - dark times ahead.

There's a big difference between playing "sexy" football (what does that actually mean?) and putting in a modicum of effort to just try and win the occasional game.
For a large part of last season (and going further back than that as far as some of us are concerned) it appeared to be beyond Mick's ambition or ability in setting up a team to do anything other than avoid defeat<doh>:headbang::emoticon-0119-puke:

Weighty I was being facetious,I always smile when someone uses the description "sexy" for anything other than the obvious.
I used to have a mate who was always going on about a certain car or new bit of hi-fi kit as being "sexy" and I always thought."Yeah, whatever turns you on!"

For me the issue is not necessarily the personnel, we actually have some half decent players who could play good football. Mick has done pretty well IMO the past couple of years in terms of transfer despite the constraints he is under.

What he hasn't done is evolved how he sets his teams up. We have more quality in the team than we did 2 years ago. We had a bunch of average players who ran their socks off played percentage football and kept it tight now we have better players but players who aren't suited to that way of playing.

It's not a money thing how you approach a football match it's all about mentality and coaching.

An inexperienced coach like Magilton played some superb football under similar financial constraints. The argument that we need to play crap football to survive is rubbish!!

Yeah I know.....I was trying to point out that 'sexy football' is just playing with the ball rather that stopping the opposition playing.
