The last minute goal for Man City at Bournemouth has brought out the usual excuses of passion and the Ref being wrong in booking Sterling. But when I first saw that rush towards the fans my first thought was I hope there are no kids down near the front, because you could see these 6ft beer belly blokes had lost it in the emotion, nothing was going to stop them. One poor Steward got clattered as he got sandwiched in between the players and the fans who had spilled onto the pitch, you can see his glasses go flying.
With David Stockdale starting at Birmingham and Neil Etheridge at Cardiff, what odds on Jesse Joronen rocking up at another Championship club next season?
One "What if" and one "Old Boy" transfer - * Burnley have signed Nakhi Wells on a 3 year deal. Still believe he was worth a punt this time last year at what, less than a million? * Rene Meulensteen, the manager of Indian side Kerela Blasters, has signed Dimitar Berbatov.
Anyone know what has happened to the arbitration between QPR & EFL on the subject of the FFP fine. It was reported in July that the arbitration would take place in August bit I haven't heard anything about the report.
Nowt about SuperBri, according to Ali Mackintosh at the FST meeting with the Club last week: "He [Mackintosh] also confirmed that the Championship clubs had yet to be notified about the news of QPR’s case contesting FFP."
Following todays announcement that Everton have parted company with their manager, and the prospect that WHU & Liverpool could follow suit , 4 of the top bookies have Slavi in the replacement frame, odds ranging from 11/2 to 20/1 I know its all supposition, but if ? who would be a suitable replacement..
Chris Coleman? His faults last time around were all rooted in inexperience. I'm sure he'd be in with a shout for a Premier League job, but maybe sentiment might bring him back to the Cottage.
Another option would be Paul Tisdale from Exeter. But we're getting ahead of ourselves here - I wouldn't want to ditch Jokanovic, the only way we should be thinking about a replacement is if one of Everton, Leicester, etc actually come in for him.
A 'panel' has ruled against QPR. But it doesn't sound as though they are not giving in yet. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41736013 Crazy that an appeal can be appealed and worse still that the whole matter is taking so long to be resolved.
A more detailed analysis by the Telegraph - looks ominous for QPR. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...world-record-40million-ffp-fine-losing-three/
Looks like the arbitration came down on the EFL side on Oct 19th and have ordered QPR to pay £40m http://www.skysports.com/football/n...es-against-qpr-over-financial-fair-play-claim Naturally QPR are appealing the judgement again. So it would seem it hasn't been cleared up yet.. The article says Leicester and Bournemouth are also liable for a big fine if they get relegated. I wonder if this figure includes all the Lawyers fees over the last 3 years. Just read that you've got the same above C58, sorry.
