Wingers frustrate the hell out of me. Be it Johnson, Lennon, Valencia, Downing, Walcott etc, etc, etc. Very frustrating playing position. 1 good game every 5(if your lucky), in and out of the game (mostly out) Will beat a man and lose it, will beat a man and balls up the cross, will beat a man and fall over, will beat a man and try and beat him again. A replacement for McLean at half the price. Won't judge him personally as Iv'e never seen him play but not overly exited.
Is Mavrias left-sided? Perhaps Giaccherini will be moved inside as the attacking midfielder alongside Cabral.
Great, another one in. Be interesting to see if he is initially used as a sub or put out on the left with Giaccherini coming inside. He has a good name so thats good enough for me!
He mainly comes in from the left he is not really a player who attacks the byline and introduces crosses
Mavrias won't start. He's only 19. The idea is Johnson and Giaccherini as starting wingers and DMK and Mavrias as competition/back-up to those two. PDC has said he likes Giaccherini as a winger and I'm 100% sure he'll stay there
http://tyneandwear.sky.com/sunderla...r-round-up-charis-mavrias-jets-in-to-complete Video ^ A round-up of transfer news from Sunderland, as a Greek winger heads to the North East to become Paolo Di Canio's 11th summer signing. Charis Mavrias has undergone a medical in Sunderland ahead of a £2.5m move from Panathinaikos. We have an update on Sunderland’s talks with Juventus for left-back Paolo De Ceglie. That deal is looking difficult though and Di Canio could switch his attentions to QPR left-back Armand Traore. And find out who is interested in Welsh midfielder David Vaughan, who has been put up for sale by Sunderland.
Check him out on youtube. Def one for the future. I'm excited, although perhaps he's one for a few years time. He could be a bargain some day. I can see him on the left wing pushing Giaccherini inside into a role which I think he'l love.
No, firstly Giaccherini doesn't fit the bill for Paolo's playmaker and secondly Mavrias is only 19 so won't start. Far too young
He will be back up for giaccharine but like you say if he is good enough he is old enough but first he has to claim his place
@SAFCsource Mavrias has completed his medical and is awaiting results before completing his move to Sunderland. http://bit.ly/13RTXNF #SAFC Harry Mavrias completed his medical tests at the training center of Sunderland and expect results to complete the transcription. Gearing is now entering the transcript of Haris black in the Sunderland. The Panathinaikos midfielder made medical examinations at the training center of Sunderland and what remains now is to leave the results to complete the acquisition of the "Black Cats." As is already known, Panathinaikos will receive 1.5 million euros with the signing of contracts and the English club should pay until the end of time even 1.5 million. Beyond that there is the prospect Clover put the funds of an additional 1 million if the 19 year old attacking midfielder has a specific number of entries during the season, and there is a small percentage of resale.
