It was good 'till Meireles went off and without him or Gerrard it all got a bit bitty. We still created chances. If 4th is a write-off after one draw then it was always a write-off because we were never going to win every game. Spurs and Chelsea have CL games, which will require first teamers, while we can field more reserves in the Europa. Spurs especially have looked shaky after CL games so there's points to be gained on them there. Chelsea will be prioritising the CL, which could take the focus off the league just enough for us to sneak by them, too. It ain't over 'till it's over.
We were unlucky but we didn't play as well as we have done of late. Meireles going off was a massive blow. We couldn't control the midfield after that, despite creating many chances.
Frustrating afternoon. Suarez a breath of fresh air. Don't know what to say about jovanovic though. Excrutiating to watch him.
I think Suarez is going to be at the centre of anything we do over the next few seasons, whether it be winning trophies, qaulifying for europe or getting to finals this lad will be at the forefront and with his free kick ability too... Wooo Gerrard can relax and let him take em' now lol...
Kenny should have used his final sub to get Jovanovic off. *Remember when Sean Dundee came on against Leicester and everyone was laughing at how bad he was? *Tis was worse, but it's not funny as he's on 70k a week basic, and over 100 if you throw in the signing on fee he got. What's worse is there were clubs who wanted him in Jan, and he wouldn't go. *Not because of money, as the club made it clear they'd pay him off. *He just wouldn't go.[
