Having watched the TV film in 2015 with regard to this remarkable man who for those who dont know has learning difficulties and has gone through his life, he's 70 now, with the attitude that he's just going to be happy and sees the good in everybody my wife bought me a follow up book for Christmas that goes further into his life.

I coincidentally finished the book over the weekend when we were involved with Stoke, the club he worked for as the Kit man under Lou Macari in the 90s so I decided to visit their site to bring this subject up.

I dont normally visit other clubs sites on here and was shocked to see the lack of use on their site, hardly any posts, no match day thread it was like the Marie Celeste.

How is it that a club like Stoke who get 20000 odd gates are in the top half of the league have fans who either dont know about these sites or dont care, when our club has the support we have and we are annual strugglers.

Yes I know most on here blame Short but it seems incredible the difference between the clubs it just seems so unfair.

So those on here who enjoyed Marvellous the film I recommend the book as Neil Baldwin is truly inspirational.

Sorry this is a bit long winded.

I watched the documentary/film about him, and his association with Stoke City, a while ago, and it was heartwarmingly brilliant :emoticon-0105-wink:

    Never heard of him.

On your other point. Many club boards on this forum are dead. This one is dying to an extent. Relegation will finish it off imo.

If you want Stoke. Go to Oatcake forum. Busy enough.

I'm not sure this board is dying. I regularly see both of you on in an evening.

Well this old one will still stay as it won't be the end of SAFC.

It is a footballing fact that when a team doing badly loses support soon gets it back if they do well the following season.

    Agree Nos.
Were together through sickness and in health, till death do us part, I've heard that somewhere before and in both cases never a true word has been spoken.
The fans have ALWAYS been bigger than the current players/Management.

It is odd how some boards are busy and others are a ghost town. I haven't looked into it but there's no pattern that I know of.

Despite people insisting that this board is dying it's still posted on many times every day even when we're ****, which is most of the time. When we're doing well it's a veritable Mardi Gras on here.

I think the answer may lie in the nature of the people who live in the area of the club. Midlands people are not the quickest or liveliest.
