Isn't he an ex Athletico Madrid player you had on loan but couldn't play because of the potential transfer fee if you did???
We did play him to start with but he was really poor after first 2 games. We had a pre agreed fee at around £9million in there and he was dire so of course we made sure we didn't hit the trigger.
Given Sunderland's financial woes I'd suggest that money rather form was the bigger influence. For a new signing a handful of games isn't time to review a player's ability.
I don't argue that finance was a part mate but he looked a long way short. He's young enough to improve but there was nothing to suggest he was going to be anything of note. That said, could play him left back instead of Dummet and he'd be an improvement there. As would a Yorkshire terrier with one eye.
No, he was the **** fullback who couldn't break the team, he had the same clause in with Alvarez where the move would turn permanent if we stayed up. You lot just swallowed the first bit or rad top crap that came out because it suits you. Playing games or not made no difference to the clause. Honestly, one of those players who looks comfortable playing Spanish football, but the pace and physicality of the Prem drowned him. Looked overwhelmed and completely ineffective. Run of games might help him, good look with that.
I'd be an improvement on Dummet and I'm crap. My only issue is why wouldn't we get rid of Anita and replace with this guy. Admittedly Anita is a central player but he was very good for us at full back.
Very odd. Ah well I'm prepared to give Manquillo a chance. I won't write him off until I watch him play.
Just hit my head on a cupboard and had a vision of the future so I can tell you now "you were right he's ****".
He played in 20 games for us which surprised me because I barely noticed him. I think his career trajectory speaks for itself, he may have started at Atletico but he's been loaned to a series of progressively worse clubs since and hasn't made an impression at any of them. With only one goal his entire career and the heart of a mouse in defence it seems likely he won't be a success at Newcastle. Having said that, rest assured that nobody here cares much how he does for you and we're happy for you to take all the time in the world to pass judgment.
