The UK's terror threat level has been raised to critical - meaning an attack is expected imminently - after 22 people were killed by a suicide bomber in Manchester. Prime Minister Theresa May made the announcement after a meeting of Cobra, the government's crisis response committee, on Tuesday evening. The terror threat level had been severe - meaning an attack was highly likely - since 2014. Members of the armed forces will be deployed across the UK as part of the raising of the UK's terror level. Prime Minister Theresa May said members of the military would be under the command of the police as part of, what is being called, Operation Tempora. Armed forces personnel will be visible at "big events" such as football matches and concerts.
It sounded like it was in response to their findings when looking into whether the bomber was working alone or as part of a group.
Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said: "I think it's very clear that this is a network that we are investigating. "And as I've said, it continues at a pace. There's extensive investigations going on and activity taking place across Greater Manchester, as we speak," he told reporters on Wednesday afternoon. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40032504 Stay safe.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-40008389 "Greater Manchester Police says it is "confident" it knows the identity of all the people who died, but is not yet in a position to formally name them." Surely they should have told the parents if they think their child is among them?
