    TEAM NEWS
Rio Ferdinand has recovered from a stomach illness and is set to start for Manchester United.

Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have minor knocks and are being monitored, but Paul Scholes could make his Premier League return.

Zat Knight will partner David Wheater in the Bolton defence if Gary Cahill's move to Chelsea goes through.

Goalkeeper Jussi Jaskelaainen could return after missing the last two games with a thigh injury.

This game has a "matter of time" feeling about it.

Should have been a red but we'll ignore that because it doesn't benefit Man Utd.

I've said it before and i'll say it again. Rooney is terrible at penalties.

He was the last man with Welbeck only having the keeper to beat.

If it had been at the other end the ABU's would be swarming all over this thread with their pathetic conspiracy theories and cries of injustice.

I doubt they could have got back to tackle Welbeck who was closing in on the keeper.

    Rooney is frustrating today.

Law says it's a red if it's an obvious goalscoring opportunity. It can't be a clear goal scoring opportunity if one of the defenders is closer to the goal than the attacker as the defender can challenge the attacker.
