At the risk of being a pedant, he`s 6`7". I think he should`ve saved it from that range too.[/QUOTE]
I thought his positioning was out by a yard. Should have been more central.

Got to surely consider video technology at the Oscars after that farce - problem is, who will do the cinematography?!

I was/am immensely proud of the performance. We conceded 3 goals against an indifferent team, so somethings didn't go to plan, of course. My concern is that this could go one of two ways. It might inspire this group and make them hungry for more Cup Finals, or the failure to qualify for Europe could make it more difficult to recruit and retain this summer.

One of the reasons old buggers like me still smart at the 1984 semi-final loss to Everton was that the failure to win silverware that season, when both the League and FA Cup were within touching distance, can be seen as the beginning of the end of the Lawrie era. I hope over the next few years we'll be seeing this as the start of a golden age for SFC. I don't need to spell out my fears.

Black day. The boys done good, and we can hold our heads up, but I'm not going to pretend I am anything but gutted.

I wouldn't say europa is a huge draw for players. We got mane when not in Europe. Tadic. Forster. Bertrand.

Let's hope you are right. I'm already thinking that maybe not being in Europe next season may work for us. Already starting to see the problem of not winning anything as a challenge and opportunity. Too many d-i-y management books. I'll be lining up ducks next!

Is there some ordinary, non-twitteresque/facebook method whereby fans are able to tell the club that we are actually very proud of them.? Can one text the club for such stuff.?

It indirectly led to their winner. All I remember is being impressed with how quickly Steven Davis sprinted back to block Zlatan off. I know Ibra isn't the fastest but he was through on goal had Davis not busted a gut to get back in front of him. A few passes later though and it was in our net.

If Lingard had committed a foul then why wasn't he sent off once our attacking play had broken down? Basically he's saying that Redmond should have behaved like one of the United lot, rolling around on the floor gurning before the appropriate action was taken. Fair play to Gallagher though as at least he picked up on the Lingard incident, most reports of the match I read completely glossed over it.

Lingard really is a really arrogant little boy. If you have ever seen his instagram you sometimes have to question whether he liked at united, but then again he is surrounded by egos.

I dislike the modern game where not showing gamesmanship is actually punished. The rolling around if Pogba and zlatan was ridiculous at times. I'm not saying our players aren't culpable because there are a couple who mKe a meal of things, but I do like how we seem to stay on our feet more. Especially Manolo.

Good one, but I was thinking of something a little more direct as an answer to the club giving out its appreciation of the fans.

I thought Steven Davis gave a modern captain's performance. He led by example, for which the others followed, giving their best.
As usual with him, most of his twinkle-toe back heels and flicks went unnoticed, although there was one where even Gary Neville gasped.
