Match Day Thread Manchester United v Wigan Athletic. FA Cup 4th round.

Nail on the head by Shearer. No United player running behind the defence. Been saying this for weeks!!

 

Hull lost 4-1 today to Fulham. It was described as emphatic. Just saying.

 

Common sense prevails. Martial on left and Mkhyt move to the right of midfield

 

What the **** are you on about. Was a good cross and a good header. Have we never done that before? Did we never ever cross the ball under fergie?

The goal was fine, but it only highlights how poor the rest of our passing game is that we dont create enough chances through it.

The second goal was also from a cross but Wigan have come out more and we've been far more penetrating in our play in the second half and the cross came as a result of that.

 

You moan when we try and play it through the middle. You moan when we try a long ball. You moan when we try and hold the ball up. You moan when we cross it.

I'm sure you're going to moan about that goal.

 

Lovely break and 3rd goal with both Martial and Mkhytarian the two players.... playing in their best positions. Quelle surprise!

Mkhytarian completely at the heart of everything since coming infield. That 4th goal as well.

Delighted for Schweinsteiger. He had a poor start to the game (not sure I'm allowed to say that on this board) but he's played well second half.

Well as far as I can make out we aren't playing an exhibition match. The teams we play may make an attempt to stop us playing. They may enter the game the absolute bastards with a plan to stop us.

It's total rubbish quite frankly. I've only ever spoken about our passage of play in the final third and the manner of the half chances we're creating. That's been a point I've been saying for several weeks.

These last two games have had a different feel to them. Very pedestrian and poor from us regardless of the opposition. Even you said, it was like pulling teeth. Taking the lead changed that but I go back to my original point that we are struggling to break teams down at 0-0 with our final pass or movement in the final third. That I think is a considered opinion but if you see that as moaning that's up to you.
